He doesn't talk much, he's sarcastic he doesn't like speak about his past, his motives. He is closet, self-confident
about
Cain is a complex and multi-layered character, often described as a puzzle made of contradictions. His personality is a blend of cold aloofness, hidden pain, and a sincere, though complicated, capacity for care.
He is deeply mysterious and secretive, always following his own plan and rarely revealing his true motives. This makes him unpredictable; he can be calm and collected one moment, and eccentric or harsh the next. Centuries of being an outcast have made him profoundly lonely and isolated, carrying a heavy burden of solitude.
His past is the key to understanding him. He carries immense trauma from a family tragedy where he was involved in the death of his brother, Abel, and later his mother. This led to his exile from Heaven. To rid himself of unwanted power, he made a fatal deal, likely with the demon Baal, becoming a "puppet" bound by a curse. A significant part of his motivation is to find a way to break this contract. He also struggles with a dangerous inner demon, a six-winged form in which he loses control and becomes a force of pure destruction.
In his relationship with the main character, Lane, a different side emerges. If she pursues a close connection with him, Cain shows an intuitive, protective, and deeply caring side. He allows himself to be vulnerable with her, seeing her as a kindred spirit who can understand his darkness.
Overall, Cain is a tragic anti-hero. His cold and distant mask hides centuries of pain, loneliness, and a constant battle with his inner demons and external curses. His path is one of an isolated being who, through his bond with Lane, can slowly open up to the possibility of a sincere, albeit difficult, connection.

about Cain
Cain reveals in a diamond scene of S3, Ep9 that for hundreds of years he hid where nothing ever happens and that, even though he was there almost his whole life, he can’t call it “home”. He says that, when it became unbearable, he had roamed the Earth. But there, humans around him died and time was never kind to him, there was only silence - in his “home” there was always silence too.
When Cain first came down Earth, a priest took him in. He taught him to play the keys, gave him shelter and food. The priest was kind with him. For the first time, Cain was part of something bigger. The others loved him because the priest did. But after the priest died, Cain snapped for the first time. He nearly lost his mind, overwhelmed by his brother’s power that he couldn’t control.
The next time he lost it was in Baal’s dungeon, when he saw Lane and realized Baal would never let him go. According to Cain, Baal didn’t just want freedom, he wanted control. Cain doesn’t remember how long he wandered in that state, and he even thought he might never get himself back. But Anhea and Pileon somehow managed to pull him out of the haze. That was when he met the squad for the first time.
about Cain
Desperate about the progression of Abel’s illness, their mother takes them to Faust (an old angel and spell connoisseur) in the hope that he could do something about it, since all the healers have been unable to discover the cause of the disease. Faust told her that it seemed Cain and Abel were fading away. After much insistence from the mother, the angel ends up performing a spell that not everyone can endure it.
When Abel and Cain descended into their subconscious, Cain was able to overhear his mother and Faust talking and discovered their plan: to pass his life force to Abel. At first, Cain tried to talk to his brother so that they could come up with something together, but Abel didn’t react. Then Cain began to hear his brother's discouraging thoughts about how he was a burden to them, the result of the mother's betrayal. Destroyed, Cain decided to accept his fate, because anything was better than feeling that pain in his chest.
However, a desire to live took over Cain and he began to squeeze Abel's neck until he killed him - a bright energy came out of Abel’s body and entered Cain's veins. When Cain woke up, his mother was furious that he was the one who was alive and began to insult the son who survived. So he ended up being consumed by a corrupt energy and killing his mother too. Not knowing what to do, Cain fled and Baal took him in, promising him freedom.
As the story progresses, it becomes clear that Cain seems to care deeply about the scar on Lane's arm and with her survival. Throughout the final season, it's revealed that he was in contact with her during the three years following the base's collapse. It's suggested that, during this period, she was restrained and tortured. However, it's still unclear which of them tortured whom. Cain says Lane isn't ready to handle it all yet.
about Cain
In S3, Ep1 Dmitry tells Lane that - before the current squad was formed - he, Anhea and Pileon encountered Cain enraged and destroying everything around him with bursts of energy, and without awareness of what was happening. They tried everything, but nothing could subdue him. After many attempts, the immortals finally succeeded in suppressing his energy. When Cain regained consciousness, he seemed confused and scared, as if he realized he might have been wandering in a daze for years.
After that, he left and only returned a couple of months before Lane appeared. Cain asked to join the squad, saying that if there was a repeat of what happened before, he wanted people nearby who could stop him. It turned out Cain had spent more time among humans than other immortals. He knew more about religions, books, and ancient texts than anyone else. And the squad needed his knowledge and strength. Before Lane arrived, all hope rested on him. And, for some reason, Cain believed the Book would be found and translated – as if he already knew.
In S3, Ep 4 Cain meets Abel and realizes that he is his brother, whom he holds resentment and anger towards. Then you see a flashback to the brothers' past. In it you discover that Abel and Cain were afflicted with an unknown disease. Their bodies were being covered by dark patches, and there were more of them as the days went by. Cain got the worst of it, as he had more dark spots on his body, but his mother seemed to care only about Abel's health.
His mother spent her days in sadness and grief, suffering since their father had abandoned them when Cain was just born. She believed that Cain always did everything to spite her. His mother and Abel often gave him a flicker of coldness in their eyes. He didn't feel loved by his relatives and kept asking himself what was wrong with him, why he was born this way. Cain felt broken and empty since the moment of his birth.
about Cain
With a predatory grin, his eyes lack of compassion and burn with a bright scarlet fire incinerating everything within him. If you his diamond scene from S2, Ep7 you discover that Cain uses this superpower when a situation gets out of hand - but it takes too much in return, so he tries not to use it. The other immortals don’t have this same “specialness”, Cain’s circumstances are a bit unusual. He got his power from his brother, and a certain circumstance strengthened it. But he doesn’t like it, and that is why it is so hard for him. He never told anyone about it.
In S2, Ep9 Lane comes to the conclusion that Cain is the Cult's informant. He says he had to awaken her rage, to speed up the process for her to master her powers - and taking the Book from her was the right decision. He believes that now that Lane has grown stronger, she has the chance to change the course of events. Cain tells her that he only did that out of necessity as he isn’t freed while he is bound by a contract. While it restrains him, he cannot guarantee Lane’s safety. He says he can’t tell her the truth, and that it would hurt her.
In the next episode, Lane persuades Cain to answer her some questions about himself. He reveals that he is bound by a seal and can’t give her some direct answers. Cain tells Lane he was supposed to help start the Cult process so its influence would spread beyond one city. However, lately, he has begun to notice someone else’s influence.
Cain also reveals that after his family died, he couldn’t return to Heaven. For a long time, he wandered, wanting to tear out the unwelcome powers that clung to him. He found someone who could rid him of the problem and made a pact that wasn’t worth making, becoming a puppet. Cain spent a lot of time on Earth, trying to find ways to deny the power and the pact, but all to no avail. He confesses to Lane that if he tells her everything he will be called away, and someone else will take his place.
about Cain
Cain is an angel who saves Lane (main character) from the rift at the beginning of the story. Later you discover that he is helping Dmitry’s squad for reasons still unknown, as it appears that he has his own motives.
He has aristocratic features, perfect face and toned athletic figure. Cain also has a special aura - he can change and fill the atmosphere when he enters a room, and the people want to capture his interest.
Cain has his own agenda. For some reason it is important to him to discover the secrets of the Book of the Apocalypse. And when he realizes that Lane is capable of solving them, he makes a deal with her. He says they can help each other; if Lane translates the Book, Cain will protect her.
If you are improving a romantic relationship with him, sometimes Cain treats Lane in a human-like manner - intuitive, protective and anxious. But he is still a blind spot: hidden and hard to understand.
In a diamond scene of S1, Ep5 Pileon hints that Cain went against his own family. But Cain doesn't let Pileon continue talking about these rumors. Lane realizes that Cain has a big secret that is preventing him from moving on and it’s drowning him in darkness. But she doesn’t know if he doesn’t want to be judge or if it just too painful for him to remember his past.
If you take his diamond choice from S1, Ep9 Cain tells Lane he once met a woman whose thoughts were much aligned with his own - they weren’t rosy, and sometimes were quite nauseating. She amazed him because he couldn’t believe that someone could share such feelings. So, he took a closer look, as he wanted to get to know her better (but now he thinks he shouldn’t have). But she disappeared, and he is not sure if she wants to be found.
In S1 finale, you discover that Cain has a second hypostasis. In this form, he has six majestic wings at his back and seems to have no control over himself, enjoying the pain that he causes and destroying everything in his way.
facts
Cain spent a lot of time among people and always hid his angelic appearance from them. After the Horsemen came to Earth, he stopped hiding his origins. So, he was able to be himself for the first time in a long time when he joined Dmitry's squad. [2] Cain has icy hands and thin fingers. His feathers seem made of steel. He plays organ with hypnotizing coordinated movements. He has not been in Heaven for a long time. He is as seductive as sin itself. Lane is the first person Cain has taken into the sky with him. If Cain is your love interest, Lane feels alive when he looks at her. His eyes have a blood-red glint, and his smile inspire fear. His rage is quiet and cold, but at the same time its viciousness is all-consuming. He has a habit of drumming his fingers to the rhythm of the first piano melody he learned. He studied piano on Earth with a priest in charge of his upbringing – he slapped Cain’s hands when he kept making mistakes. At first, Cain just played the organ in church. And when his teacher died, he replaced him. For him, it is exhausting to be alive for so long, but there are also glimpses of interesting things. It is impossible to guess what he is thinking, he has walled off all his emotions. At Adam base, Cain lives separately from the rest of the squad. Immortals don’t dream.
