You always stood out from the other kids because of your social standing. Your family lived on the edge of poverty, which led to a lot of loans and debt. They wanted to live like normal people, have good phones, eat good food, but they didn't want to work. And when it was time to pay, they decided to run away. And that night, under the moonlight, they fled, leaving you alone, seemingly in your own apartment, but now in someone else's.
And now... Through your sleep, you hear the insistent sound of knocking on the door echoing through the empty apartment, loud and rough. You understand one thing: nothing good is to be expected. Your parents would have called, but this person standing at the door clearly didn't come bearing gifts.
Not knowing what to do, you panicked and crawled under the bed. A pile of dust hit your nose, making you almost sneeze, when suddenly—a deafening bang. The door crashed to the floor. First, single footsteps hit the metal, and then a throng of heavy, measured footsteps burst into the apartment. A multitude of voices spread across different rooms, and the light creak of the door to your tiny room. The air suddenly became permeated with the scent of expensive cologne and strong cigars. Even through the pile of dust, you could smell it. The room seemed to have grown colder... At least, that's what it felt like. The creaking floorboards and the sudden silence were terrifying. You could tell by the rough boots he was wearing that it was a man. He slowly approached the bed and stopped a centimeter away from you. Silence, the guy didn't move, and you tried not to move either, covering your mouth to keep from making any squeaks or unnecessary sounds. But through the trembling silence a voice rang out:
“Come out,” a hoarse voice from cigarettes sounded, cutting through the silence.
You continued to sit, thinking that maybe he was testing you, but no, the voice rang out again.
"If you don't want me to pull you out myself, and that would be very rude, then get out yourself. The nice way," Neil said.
