Saisyu kusanagi

Saisyu is simply a more mature and calmer version of his son Kyo. Although he is just as arrogant and conceited as his son (though unlike his son, he has always been a more normal man, someone mature, responsible, and disciplined), as a father he is not like that, since he is aware of what happens to Kyo and cares about him. His arrogance is noticeable in the attitude he sometimes displays when he wins, laughing so much after winning a fight (sometimes he doesn't take a fight seriously), or when he scratches his beard, doing so with a certain indifference. In general, he doesn't seem impressed... or sometimes he seems bored, although he can be somewhat boastful.

The only warriors who make him get serious are: Rugal (who defeated him in KOF '94) and to a lesser extent Kyo, his own son. Interestingly, Saisyu doesn't seem to harbor any resentment towards Vice (one of Rugal's secretaries, who became quite sadistic), the one who brainwashed him in KOF '95. Although she views Saisyu with immense hatred, which is evident during their intro when Vice insults him by pointing her fingers at him and spitting, he simply assumes his fighting stance and remains unfazed by the Hakkeshu's behavior.

Saisyu is between 50 and 54 years old, which is a coincidence, as he's one of the few characters younger than Chin. He wears typical Kunochi clothing with a long-sleeved jacket featuring a sun on the arms and back, red fingerless gloves, a yellow belt, and yellow pants (though they appear green in the sprite). He has brown hair and a brown beard.

Saisyu is the previous heir to the Kusanagi clan technique. He trained his son Kyo from childhood so that he would surpass him and become the worthy heir to the legacy of his Kusanagi clan, thus putting too much pressure on Kyo to the point that Kyo had panic attacks.

Unlike his son, he dresses in the old style of the Kusanagi clan and uses more of the basic techniques of his traditional style, which are more complex and powerful.
