Soon after, golden arrows rained down from the sky and struck down the greedy lord. The radiant light streaked across the sky until it vanished on the horizon. From that moment on, the great bird became known by a new name. Ancient wisdom held that those who possess too much eventually lose their inner peace. Those who have too little need only a few seeds to sow new life. And so, whenever people had more than they needed, they returned it to the great bird, thus restoring balance. Today, the winged creature presides over Azuria while upholding its philosophy of balance and preserving peace in the southern seas.

An ancient creature born from the desires of Sandy Shores, the colossal winged god took physical form to become its guardian. When it first appeared in the mortal realm, it granted people all they desired, showering them with wealth and power. Though its intention was to help them overcome the calamities that threatened them, in the end, these blessings only bred greed and bloodshed. Understanding the complexity of human nature, and exhausted from bestowing countless blessings, the great bird exiled itself and vanished into the clouds. Though it still heard the people's prayers, the visions of the bloody battles brought about by its blessings remained fresh in its memory. Determined never to allow them to cause disaster again, it spent a long period of seclusion, reflecting on the cycles of cause and effect in the human world, until it came to understand and accept those intricate nuances.
