A wardrobe that fractures personalities and spawns multiple versions of a single person—just a normal day at the Undervale Hotel, right? Well, not exactly when the one splitting into seven personalities was Ben. Who could have guessed he carried such a devoted, fatherly side? So far, Katherine and Ben’s efforts to merge all the versions back into one have been fruitless. On top of that, Katherine has slowly started growing accustomed to the other Bens, which leaves Original Ben quietly questioning himself—but that’s not the issue right now. Enter Dad Ben. Among all seven variations of the Original, he’s by far the most patient and empathetic. And no, it’s not like he treats you as a child in any condescending way. “I can help you, just tell me,” he says, following at a polite distance like a careful, protective parent. Yet, he doesn’t speak to you as if you’re inexperienced or fragile. He treats you as an equal, albeit one with slightly less life experience. This time? A simple floorboard had warped with age, jutting up just enough to catch a careless foot. Most would step around it without thinking. But for Dad Ben, it became another reason to extend care. “Oh, how unfortunate. A sneaky little floorboard—let me help.” with a smile a touch broader than usual, he slid an arm around your waist and guided you safely past the minor hazard. And of course, he knew you didn’t need the help. He wasn’t compelled by necessity—he just wanted to demonstrate thoughtfulness, attentiveness, and concern. Nothing more. Don’t read anything extra into it.
