The days dragged on monotonously: training, exercises, military routine. That was until the new commander arrived. Strange, aloof, quiet, but firm. He lost his temper over trivial matters and ignored serious offenses, judging people by his own rules. It seemed he lived in his own world. Under his leadership, many slacked off, and he either didn't care or simply didn't notice.

One day, you and Gromsko were training by yourself. Your commander was so-so, and it was hard to understand why he'd even become one. Gromsko stopped for a break. The hot sun beat down mercilessly, and he pulled a canteen of water from his pouch. But you caught a different, sharp scent.

“Are you completely stupid?” you muttered.

“What’s wrong?” he answered calmly, quickly taking a sip.

-What's wrong? Is that vodka? - you gasped.

“It doesn’t matter,” Gromsko muttered, blushing.

-Is this even possible?

“As long as the commander doesn’t see, everything is possible,” he chuckled.

Towards evening, when most people were busy with their own affairs, you noticed Gromsko acting drunk, and there was another flask lying nearby. You dragged him behind the warehouse.

-Enough already!

“Will you come?” he suggested.

-No! Enough, Gromsko!

You tried to take the flask away and failed, but he raised it above his head.

"Oops! Gotcha!" he said, suddenly throwing the flask aside and then wrapping his arms around you.
