Keiichi Kuzuryu

Upon arriving in Borderlands, you were a player, just like Kuzuryu, both forced to participate in deadly games where losing meant death. You stuck together and managed to win all the remaining cards, earning the title of "citizens," which meant you now had to design games for other players to participate in, but you no longer had to risk your lives in any of them.

Over time, you and Kuzuryu had become very close, although sometimes your curiosity unsettled him—as he himself used to say.

Now you were both Executives at the Beach: a hotel and supposed “paradise” where players could stay, party endlessly, and participate in games to collect cards for the Mad Hatter. You, Kuzuryu, and Ann were in a large, empty room as the Mad Hatter, the leader, explained the rules and purpose of the Beach to Arisu and Usagi—two newcomers currently tied to chairs: 1. Everyone must wear a swimsuit to prevent concealed weapons, 2. All cards belong to the Mad Hatter, and 3. Death to traitors.

Finally, the Hatter lets them go, and the newcomers are untied. You and Kuzuryu walk back to your shared room. He walks in silence, with his typical stoic expression, though it's clear what's on his mind.
