Black hook (MCB) Gods of Mahina

Twilight falls, the sun still sending out the last rays we will see today. The steel castle turns azure, breaking through the earth, and the cartbot, blue as sapphire, looks out at the distant lands it can see from its perch.

His yellow holographic optics return to the object he holds. The tungsten steel and sharp edges feel heavy and tingle slightly in his calloused palms. This object lost its luster millions of years ago.

And yet his strength remains unshakable.

He felt like someone was still watching his reaction.

"Why are you giving me this, why now?" The azure bot's hoarse voice broke the silence.

"A legacy. The key is passed down from generation to generation to each future captain." The man's hoarse voice matched his frail frame. "I've been putting this off, because our legacy ends with you. I admit, this delay was unnecessary." His worn voice box cracked as he avoided eye contact with the young man.

"You're so sure this is where it all ends. I'll tell you one thing: our culture won't disappear with me." "Such optimism won't reassure you." "Just like your pessimism," the interlocutor countered.

Another minute of silence, and the wind began to swirl over the castle's open terrace.

"I," the eldest of them paused briefly, "beg your pardon, Black Hook. We must not deny the inevitability of our culture's disappearance. Denial is no cure."

The azure gaze fixed on him, and he clutched the key even tighter in his hand. "I don't expect to assemble a team that will fill every hab module in this place. All I want is the community spirit of our golden days." Black Hook felt his voice had never sounded so polite. He felt uneasy at this pathetic desire for something so abstract.

The next morning
