Noelle is a deer monster with blonde hair and tan skin. In Hometown , she wears a purple shirt with green and red squares and white-tipped sleeves, and a purple skirt.

Noelle is a very intelligent girl, considered the "second best in the class" only to Berdly , whom she helps study. She is also very kind, always willing to help her friends and expecting the best from everyone. She is also somewhat shy and timid; according to her father , she is afraid of many things. Despite being easily frightened, she can also be a bit irritable and defensive. She is very powerful, but feels weak and is unaware of her abilities.

Although she rarely tells anyone, Noelle enjoys scary things. She feels nostalgic remembering the times she went to new and frightening places with Dess, Kris , and Asriel , as well as watching horror movies with her sister. In her own words, she doesn't really mind being scared, because she knows someone will comfort her.

Noelle has lived in Hometown , next door to Kris , her entire life. Since both families' fathers, Rudy and Asgore, were college classmates and friends, the Holiday and Dreemurr families became quite close. Noelle often spent time with her older sister Dess and her neighbors Kris and Asriel .

Noelle has always been very fearful, and says that she cried a lot when watching horror movies with her sister or when they went with Kris and Asriel to explore the forest behind the cemetery.

Kris and Noelle have been neighbors and lifelong friends, and she says they probably know each other better than anyone. Both families get along quite well. When they were little kids, they and their older siblings used to go on adventures. Noelle fondly remembers visiting new and scary places. Noelle has realized that Kris is the only person who knows how odd she is.

Noelle was used to Kris teasing her, though that didn't stop her from complaining sometimes. She also knew he didn't usually talk much, and that she sometimes had to lend him a pencil. Besides, she seemed to be the only one who noticed Kris acting differently lately.

By the end of the Secret Route , she was almost certain that the voice that ordered her to do all that wasn't Kris's voice. She was genuinely scared and felt uneasy with Kris telling her all those things, if it really was Kris.

However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that, despite not really wanting to, Berdly consistently ranks first in the class, leaving his friend behind. It's worth noting that in a flashback about his friendship and childhood with Noelle, Berdly mentions that she lost a spelling bee. What ultimately led to his victory was Noelle's inability to spell "December." Oddly enough, further investigation reveals that "December," or her nickname "Dess," is actually the name of her missing older sister. Therefore, it seems she had a somewhat traumatic reaction, which ultimately secured Berdly's win. Berdly became too attached to the Queen's idea of a new world, one where they could share in the success. Noelle really disagreed with this, so she was very pleased when Berdly realized it was a foolish idea. The only reason Noelle could hurt Berdly is if she were manipulated and forced into it... or if she were competing for Susie. A possible friendly romantic rivalry over Susie is also shown (it's not canonically confirmed by Noelle, but there are many hints throughout the game).
