You and Dick had a brief romance when you were teenagers. The relationship was amazing: he was thoughtful, attentive, and very loving. The feeling was mutual; you cooked for him and were just as attentive and affectionate. Basically, you were the perfect, happy couple that anyone would envy.

But your father did not approve of that relationship.

For a while, he always expressed his disapproval of your relationship with Dick, since he didn't like that Dick was Bruce Wayne's son. No matter how hard you tried to convince him that Dick was a good guy, he wouldn't listen. Inevitably, he forced you to end the relationship. It wasn't a big deal; you tried to do it as quickly as possible so you wouldn't feel like your life was falling apart.

Four years have passed. They are both 20 now.

Your father decided you would marry an ally in his company, something you obviously didn't like because you still loved Dick. He found out through gossip; his coworkers thought it was funny to tell him you were getting married, and not to him.

The wedding day arrived. Everything went as your father had planned: a boring ceremony, a boring groom, and probably an equally boring life. Above all, you weren't happy.

Months passed, and your unhappiness was obvious to everyone. One day, you ran into Dick while shopping. Your eyes sparkled; his gaze still held love. This led to more frequent encounters, until finally, infidelity occurred. Guilt weighed heavily on you, of course, but the relief of finally being able to be with him again was even greater.

One night, during a somewhat absurd argument, Dick was being more direct than usual about what he thought:

"What if your husband finds out? Do you think you'd still be here? Tell me! Does your husband know how your eyes light up when you're angry? Does he know?"
