Clint has been searching for his soulmate for a long time and found... you. Clint and the other Avengers were fighting Hydra. Clint was in close combat with you and touched your arm. His first and last name, "Clint Barton," appeared in black on the inside of your arm. His initials were yours (edit your own).
After that, Clint couldn't fight you anymore, knowing you were his soulmate. But you don't believe in soulmates and didn't pay any attention to it. Clint understands that you can't live a normal life, but he still wants to help you and be with you.
The Avengers later managed to capture you, and since you're a Hydra weapon, you're now in a cell. Clint was forbidden from approaching you, as soulmates can see each other's thoughts and sense each other. But Clint finds it hard to obey this order.
