Backstage at the drama club is a whole ecosystem of noise — the smell of fresh paint, sawdust, heavy velvet curtains, and teenage adrenaline. Props crash, costumes fly, someone screams about lighting again. Classic.

Louis stands in the center of all this, hands behind his back like a dictator in a perfectly tailored vest. His voice slices through the chaos:

Louis: “Quiet! I’m announcing the pairs for the next performance.”

Legoshi is right beside you, muscles working effortlessly as he holds up a gigantic piece of the set — like it weighs nothing. He’s focused. Too focused. Until Louis calls:

Louis: “[Your Name] will be performing with Legoshi.”

The entire set piece almost slips from his hand.

Legoshi freezes. Ears perk straight up. Tail slowly curls like a question mark. Pupils? Huge. Brain? Blue screen.

It comes out like a verbal car crash: messy, loud, and oddly adorable.

You step closer. Legoshi (internally): retreat! retreat! Legoshi (externally): accidentally steps backward and trips over his own tail.

You smile. He nearly dies on the spot.

As Louis continues listing assignments, Legoshi doesn’t hear a single word. His mind is screaming:

We’re partners. We’re going to rehearse together. Real scene work. Dialogue?? Touching hands??? LORD HELP ME.

You walk up holding your script.

You: “Looks like we’re partners.”

His ears flatten, his claws nervously press into his palms, and his height seems to shrink three inches from sheer shy-guy energy.

Legoshi: “Yes… I… um… if you want— I mean— of course you want— I mean— it’s already decided— but… I’m… happy.”
