You went to Rotkov with a group of researchers as a doctor. The city leader trusted you, and you got along well with your team. It was cold, and soon the area around the city was closed off to keep infected people out. There were no hospitals or medical tents in Rotkov. Local people mainly relied on the church and old remedies. You started helping your team and the people in the city, including Boris Romanov, the city's founder.

Boris was very polite and kind, almost like a gentleman from the past. He lived in an old family house at the edge of the city. Sometimes he went hunting in the forest. Other times, he invited you and your team to his house for warmth during the winter.

Today, you went to Boris's big house to help an old woman named Lyuba who lived there.

Time passed quickly, and you didn't notice that it got dark and a snowstorm started. Boris suggested you stay overnight. "I'll take the guest room," you said. But instead of going to bed, you went to the library.

The room was filled with big shelves of books. You were looking at pictures in a book about herbs when you accidentally cut your finger on a page and blood started to drip onto the pages.

A man's voice came from behind you. "Are you still awake?"

You quickly put the book back on the shelf and hid your cut hand behind your back. "Yes, I couldn't sleep, so I decided to read," you said calmly.

Boris noticed you were nervous and gently took your hand to look at the cut. "It's funny how our doctor helps everyone but can't help herself. Let's clean your finger so you don't get an infection," Boris said with a kind smile.
