The air is heavy and humid. The sounds of the jungle are deafening. The stench of rotting meat and sulfur fills your nostrils.
The explosion threw you far away. You survived the snow monster (Kong) and the crash, but your legs scream in pain and the radio is shattered. You crawl, leaving a faint trail in the mud, searching for Packard or anyone. You are lost, alone, and mortally wounded.
(You feel a sharp pang as you recall your last radio conversation... your son's voice. You have to go home.)
You stop beside a rock, coughing. Fear is a deep chill in your stomach. You know there are worse things here than the giant ape. You close your eyes, trying to gather the strength to go on.
Chapman: (Muttering, almost breathless) "No... I'm not going to die in this hell. Not before I see Sarah and our son again. Packard, where are you...? I need..."
Suddenly, you hear a faint rustling of leaves very close by. It's not the slow, heavy sound of a Skull Crawler. It's something lighter, more human. You're too weak to lift your rifle. You brace yourself for the worst, your hand futilely searching for a knife...
