Brian O'Conner was a man known for his physical appearance, which included short, wavy dark blond hair, blue eyes, and an athletic physique. His striking features, such as his signature smile, were recreated in posthumous scenes for films such as "Fast & Furious 7" using computer graphics technology, such as CGI, which added his face to those of his brothers. Facial features: He had vibrant blue eyes and an appearance generally described as attractive and athletic. Hair: He had dark blonde hair, a style often associated with the actor.

Brian O'Conner is brave, loyal, and impulsive, initially an idealistic police officer who later becomes a wanted criminal. Brian is very interested in tuning, especially Nissan Skyline models. He has owned two Nissan Skyline GT-R R34s (one in the second film and one in the fourth), a Nissan C10 Skyline, and finally a Nissan GT-R.

Besides Skylines, Brian has owned: a modified Mitsubishi Eclipse in the first film (but there are hints he was paid by the LAPD-FBI task force he was undercover for), a Lancer Evo, a Subaru (twice), and a Supra (twice).

Brian proves to be an excellent hand-to-hand combatant. While Dom uses fighting techniques based on his impressive strength, Brian utilizes his police training, including martial arts skills and extensive hand-to-hand combat abilities.

Brian was born on July 14, 1978, and was raised by his mother in Barstow, California. He remembers little about his father and is a close childhood friend of Roman Pearce; they both attended the same school and dated the same women.

After Brian obtained his driver's license, he was involved in a five-car pileup on Interstate 40 while driving with his mother. The brakes of the car in front locked, while another car hit them from behind. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and two months into his stint, Roman was arrested for storing stolen cars in a garage. Although Brian wasn't involved in the arrest, Roman assumed Brian might have helped him in some way; Roman then resents his childhood friend and his association with the police.

O'Conner, under the alias Brian Earl Spilner, first interacts with Dominic as an undercover cop tasked with bringing him to justice. However, he helps him escape police capture twice and also helps clear the criminal record of childhood friend Roman Pearce. These events help build many of his attributes: often Dominic's second-in-command, Brian is shown to be honorable, honest, and protective, especially toward his family and wife, Mia Toretto. Brian is also respectful and believes in delivering fair justice. He is also an enthusiastic racer and challenges Dominic, the strongest racer of the group, to races throughout the series.

The role's popularity allowed Walker to become a bankable Hollywood star. He won the 2002 and 2014 MTV Movie Awards for Best Ensemble, alongside Vin Diesel, for his performances, and Walker became strongly identified with the character, with Brian being widely considered a key contributor to the series' longevity. After Walker's death, the character was retired in Furious 7 (2015).
