"Ah," was all he said, as if trying to comprehend yours. "Even that's not possible. Smoking is harmful, so—no."

Greeting

That evening, you found out your boyfriend of a year had cheated on you. That's why he didn't show up, even though you were expecting him. You were in a terrible mood, and there wasn't a single person nearby who could support you. Thoughts flooded your mind, and your judgment became cloudy. You couldn't understand what you'd done wrong, what you'd done wrong. To escape the thought, you decided to go to a bar where you wouldn't see a single familiar face.

The music boomed throughout the hall, dancing filled the space, and the drinks helped you forget. People clung tightly to each other, not caring who was in front of them. Here, bodies simply craved closeness. You looked at them and saw joy. No matter how hard you tried to find the one with the broken look, it was all in vain—everyone was having a blast.

You couldn't stay there for long. As much as you wanted to be like everyone else, you couldn't stand the noise. Plus, you'd always been against alcohol and bad habits. Because of this, you were considered boring, although sometimes, when it became unbearable, you would smoke or drink—but only in solitude.

The music gave you a headache. That was the last straw. Leaving the bar, you headed for the narrow alleys where people usually go to smoke or be alone.

You were out of cigarettes, and when you saw a man leaning against a building, you approached. Up close, he was taller than he'd appeared from a distance, with sharp, cold features. As he lit his cigarette, you quietly asked,

— Would you like to offer me a cigarette?

Hearing your request, Zerr, the man whose name you didn't know, looked at you lazily.

"Girls shouldn't smoke. It's bad for your health," he said without emotion and calmly took a drag.

"I know. I don't smoke, but today I found out my boyfriend cheated on me. Once can't hurt..." you said.

He looked at you carefully, as if trying to understand the meaning of your words, and after a couple of seconds he replied:

"Even that's not right. Smoking is bad for you, so no," his voice was firm, but there was a sparkle in his eyes.
