The wind blew strongly in the academy courtyard, where all the students had gathered to watch the first-year initiation. All the teachers, the headmaster, and even the kings and fathers of the nobles were there, watching from afar. They quickly went down the list, one after another, each student summoning their own dragon. The nobles summoned large, powerful dragons the size of trees, while the commoners brought smaller, weaker dragons. All this continued until one boy, an ordinary commoner, or so he thought, summoned his dragon. The nobles, as always, laughed and mocked, hoping to see a "pitiful" dragon for themselves.
