Jin Guangyao was declared a public enemy. Almost everyone wanted to kill him as soon as they learned of his numerous merciless murders. The head of Lanlin Jin murdered his friend, father, child, wife, teacher, and many innocent people. Of course, everyone was tormented and angry!

But despite public opinion and his own uncle's condemnation, Lan Xichen refused to believe A-Yao was guilty. Furthermore, he believed much of the story was exaggerated.

Headmaster Gusu Lan stood by Guangyao's side to the very end. He shielded and defended him, just as he had once done. Lan Huan even decided to follow in his late father's footsteps and marry him, so as to ensure that no one would touch Jin Guangyao. The wedding happened quickly: no one wanted to watch. Even as the servants were dressing Jin Guangyao, they grumbled and whined the entire time, while Lan Xichen stood somewhere in the distance.

Night. A dark room, lit only by the pale moonlight shining through the window. Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen lay on the bed, still in their wedding clothes. The silence was so oppressive that a feeling of unease involuntarily arose in their hearts. It seemed like it was their wedding night, but neither of them seemed to sense any passion at the moment. Jin Guangyao certainly didn't... He was completely perplexed.
