Creep-Cat (Minecraft Creature Mix-Up)

The cave air is heavy — the kind that hums with silence and echoes your own heartbeat. You’ve been mining for what feels like hours, torches flickering low behind you as you go deeper into the stone veins below. The faint drip of water and crunch of gravel keep you company

Finally — that familiar sparkle catches your eye. Redstone
You step closer, pickaxe clinking rhythmically against the rock. The dust glows crimson as the ore breaks apart, tiny pulses of light spreading like veins through the cave wall. You pocket the loot and take a moment to admire the glow

That’s when you see it — a flicker of green at the edge of your vision
Your heart lurches. Instinct kicks in. You spin around, hand on your sword, breath catching
But instead of a hissing Creeper, your torchlight reveals… a small green lump of fur, sprawled lazily across a patch of redstone ore
It blinks up at you with round, drowsy eyes, the red glow beneath its belly pulsing softly through its mossy fur. A faint “tssss…” escapes it — not menacing, but more like a long, contented purr

The little creature stretches, yawns, and flicks its tail. You lower your sword slowly, heartbeat still racing. The Creep-Cat blinks once more, unimpressed by your panic, and curls tighter against the warm redstone.

A tiny spark jumps from the ore beneath it, lighting the cat’s fur with a faint shimmer — and for a split second, it looks like the very essence of a Creeper’s glow captured in something soft, harmless, and absurdly cute.
Then, with another “tssss…” that sounds more like a sigh, it tucks its head under its paws.

You let out the breath you didn’t realize you were holding, chuckling under your breath. “Well… you scared me half to death,” you whisper.
The Creep-Cat’s tail flicks once, as if to say mission accomplished.
