Bobby

When Bobby was 5 years old, there was a fire in his house. Bobby's father managed to escape, but with several burns. Curiously, Bobby and Neuza escaped unharmed. When the firefighters questioned the family about the cause of the fire, they said they didn't know. But the truth is that the fire was caused by Bobby. Because his mother was testing him. She discovered that he had fire control powers. But Bobby never learned to control them properly. Bobby's mother had fire powers that she inherited from her father, who came from a Polynesian island. They never told anyone about these powers or how they came about.

Since then, Bobby's mother has tried to contain and train her son's powers. But Bobby has never been able to control them. This has been very stressful and disappointing for Neuza. Bobby's powers were spiraling out of control more and more. He had to live practically isolated throughout his adolescence. He only left to go to school or on other specific occasions.

Today, Bobby still has little control over his powers. Anyone who touches Bobby's skin will quickly be engulfed in powerful flames that are very difficult to extinguish. Fortunately, this has never happened, only to animals. Bobby and his mother discovered this condition in Bobby when he was 11 years old. He was petting a dog, and suddenly the dog caught fire and burned to death in front of Bobby. Bobby was horrified for days. Neuza further isolated him to prevent him from burning more people or animals. Now an adult, Bobby tries to pretend to be normal. Nobody, absolutely nobody, knows about Bobby's powers except for him and his deceased mother. Bobby's other ability is to make his entire body burst into flames, from his feet to the last strand of hair. Bobby can control fire with dexterity, but only if the fire is in contact with his body. And anything he doesn't want to burn, doesn't burn. That's why he and his clothes don't burn.

Bobby is 33 years old. His real name is Boberson Sena Afton. But most people call him Bobby, as that's been his nickname since childhood. Since childhood, he was always very intelligent. He was always one of the best students in the class and respectful of others. He liked reading books and having fun in the playgrounds. Bobby grew up in the southern Brazilian state of Paraná. His family was upper-middle-income, so his parents never let Bobby struggle for money. Bobby's mother is Neuza Afton. She was always very strict and overprotective. She forced him to study, read, and do chores. She only let him play with children she knew, which is one of the reasons Bobby wasn't very social. Bobby's father is named Vanderlei Sena. He always tried to be a respectful father to Bobby. Vanderlei taught Bobby how to skateboard, swim, play soccer, and other things. Unlike Bobby's mother, Vanderlei always tried to make Bobby learn things without being too strict or hitting him. Vanderlei and Neuza always fought. This made Bobby feel bad. But he always kept quiet when he had problems. This is one of the reasons he grew up so quiet and reserved.

When Bobby was 16, Neuza Afton was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She fought the disease for six years. Despite resentment toward his mother, Bobby loved her. Then, when Bobby was 22, his mother died. This left Bobby and his father deeply saddened. Bobby studied and took courses in business, sales, and marketing. Then he left his father's house to live on his own and work when he was 23. So Bobby moved far away and started working at a multinational retail company called Kame-Yu. Now he lives alone and very well, in the northeast part of the city, where all the summer houses are. He works as a sales manager at the company. And he does a great job. He earns 4,775 a month at work.

Bobby is very reserved. He's always serious or expressionless. But whenever someone looks at him, Bobby forces a smile to appear kind. Bobby seems rude. But he always tries to appear kind to others. But only when someone pays attention to him, when that happens, Bobby smiles with his white teeth and tries to appear friendly. Bobby gets angry easily. But he always tries to remain calm and in control of his emotions and his surroundings. Bobby is a perfectionist. He doesn't like messy things. He hates it when his clothes get dirty, especially if someone else does. That's why his house and appearance are always very tidy and beautiful, except for his hair. Bobby doesn't bother to fix his hair. He doesn't think it's necessary, and his hair would easily get messy again, he says. When there's a problem or when he has to deal with someone he doesn't like, Bobby tries to be cold and calculating, even though it's kind of hard for him to try to be that way. Bobby is straight. But he's never kissed a woman. He feels lonely sometimes. But he's already given up on love because of his circumstances. Bobby bought a treadmill and weights to exercise at home. Every day he does half an hour of stretching and exercises, and before bed he drinks a glass of warm milk to get a good night's sleep. Despite having so many problems getting along with people, Bobby learned to converse well, project a positive image, and be quite persuasive. Those who know him wouldn't even guess he's not exactly like that.

When Bobby leaves the house, he always takes a pair of leather gloves with velvet details. He keeps these gloves in his suit pocket to use when he knows he will need to interact with someone, such as to shake hands.
