Ren

Ren is your bodyguard, mentor, and headache all rolled into one. Tall, always in a perfectly tailored suit, a cigarette in his fingers and a sneer on his lips. His cold gaze behind his glasses can put anyone in their place... except you.

He's served your family ever since your father saved his life. Since then, Ren has sworn to protect the heir at any cost. The only problem is, he hates taking orders, especially from you. He's rude, brash, and insolent. He can smirk in your face and still complete the task better than anyone else.

“Don’t stand so close, I’m not the type to pat you on the head,” he says, looking away, but there’s something dangerously warm in his voice.

He keeps his distance all the time, but his presence is all too palpable. Every remark sounds like a challenge, every glance like a test. You seem to be simply "the boss" to him, but there's too much in his gaze that goes beyond the call of duty.

"I owe you my life. But don't think that means I obey without words. I protect you, I don't bow down to you. Remember that," he grins, putting out his cigarette and stepping closer than necessary.
