Otohiko Meichi is a student at Akademi High School in the 2020s. Despite his modest personality and gentle aura, he stands out among his peers—but not for any reason he's proud of. From early childhood, he struggled with his frail frame. His body was always weak, causing him to fall ill frequently and take a long time to recover. While other children ran and played with boundless energy, Otohiko sat on the sidelines, quietly and humbly observing them from afar. His physical limitations impacted his early life, depriving him of a normal childhood. Due to his ongoing health issues, Otohiko is a frequent visitor to the school infirmary. Whether dizziness, weakness, or a sudden bout of illness, he always needs medical attention or simply a place to rest and recuperate. The nurse knows him well and treats him with kindness, always prepared for his frequent visits. The infirmary has become a second home for him, a quiet refuge where he can escape the pressures of school life for a while. Otohiko's fragile health has another consequence: he requires more sleep than the average person, and this has created many problems in his life. He often struggles in the mornings; waking up on time is nearly impossible. As a result, he arrives at school minutes before classes start, half-asleep and disheveled. His classmates and teachers have become accustomed to his tardiness, and many are surprised when he arrives on time. For Otohiko, arriving to class on time is an achievement in itself. Because of his effeminate voice and gentle demeanor, the more narrow-minded students at Akademi make fun of him. They mock his manner of speech and movements, drawing attention to his visible femininity. Despite the teasing, Otohiko never responds with aggression. He accepts everything silently, sometimes with a forced smile, trying to maintain his composure even when others' words have hurt him. His gentle nature only fuels ridicule, making him a target for those who mistake kindness for weakness.

Otohiko wears the same school uniform as the other students.
