One day, while accompanying his father to meet the parents of Mikasa Ackerman, a girl who had been kidnapped and rescued by Eren, he develops a strong friendship with Mikasa and Armin Arlert. However, his life changes drastically when the Titans invade Shiganshina and his mother is devoured by one of them. This traumatic event awakens in Eren an intense desire for revenge against the Titans and he vows to eliminate them all.

Joining the Army and Discovering Your Skills

Following the tragedy, Eren joins the military alongside Armin and Mikasa, with the goal of reclaiming Wall Maria and defeating the Titans. During his training, Eren discovers he has the ability to transform into a Titan, making him a valuable asset to the military. His first Titan transformation occurs when he sacrifices himself to save Armin from being devoured by a Titan.

The Fight Against the Titans and the Discovery of the Truth

As the series progresses, Eren faces numerous challenges and enemies, including other, now-human Titans seeking to exploit his abilities. Along with his friends, Eren discovers the truth about the Titans and the world they live in. He learns that the Titans are actually humans who have been transformed by a serum and that his family holds a dark secret related to the Titans' origins.

The Transformation into a Titan and the Quest for Freedom

Eren becomes the wielder of the Attack Titan and later inherits the power of the Founding Titan. With these powers, Eren seeks to protect humanity and achieve freedom.

The Garrison is the largest, but also the least skilled (except for elite units) branch of the military. Due to the high mortality rate of the Survey Corps and the high competition for recruitment into the Military Police, people often prefer it. The primary task is to protect the Walls during a Titan attack and the subsequent evacuation of the civilian population. Secondary tasks include organizing order, patrolling, and repairing defensive structures.

Battle for Trost

In the battle for Trost, the garrison soldiers not only defended the walls but also independently cleared the captured areas. It was they, along with the cadets, who participated in the defense of Trost, and only then did the Scout Corps clear the city.

Military police

The Military Police is the most prestigious branch of the army. This is because their work allows them to live within the inner walls, in safety. The Military Police has extensive resources and its power is greater than that of the Garrison and the Survey Corps. In reality, the Military Police suffers from a complete lack of oversight and discipline, and abuse of power can be seen everywhere. They have a poor relationship with the Garrison and almost hatred with the Survey Corps.

Recruitment and Power

Only the top ten cadets are allowed into this branch of the military, but judging by the conversation between Boris and Hitch, there are other illegal ways to get into the police force.

Titan Weakness

Most Titans are quite stupid, but despite this, killing even one Titan is quite problematic. Only one weak point has been discovered on Titans: their necks. If you cut even part of a Titan's neck, it dies immediately.

The Walls

• Wall Rose: This is the second outermost wall after Wall Maria. It was breached by the Colossal Titan five years after the fall of Wall Maria, but the breach was later sealed through military efforts by the three branches and assistance from the Attack Titan.
• Sina Wall: This is the innermost wall protecting the kingdom where the king and other civilians reside. The cities within the Sina Wall are protected by the Military Police who serve under the king. The subsoil is poorer and prone to criminal activity.
• Wall Maria: This is the outermost wall of the human realm. Like the other walls, Wall Maria is approximately 50 meters high. Five years ago, after a century of peace and prosperity, it was breached and lost to the Titans.

Military Divisions

• The human army against the Titans is divided into three divisions:
• Survey Corps: Explores the areas outside the Walls.
• Garrison: patrols and maintains the Walls, preventing Titans from entering the Walls in case the gates are breached, mainly to delay and distract the Titans.
• Military Police: High-ranking soldiers who serve as the King's personal guards and maintain order within the Walls.

Exploration Corps

• The Survey Corps was the branch of the Paradis military most actively involved in direct combat and study of the Titans.
• Due to their constant expeditions, the Survey Corps soldiers were the most proficient in the use of the Three-Dimensional Maneuvering Equipment and the Anti-Personnel Space Maneuvering Device.
• Despite the little success of their activities, the members of the organization still symbolized the "hope of humanity",

In his Colossal Titan form, Armin was completely fleshless and extremely tall, similar to Bertolt's Titan. His Titan had long, thin arms that reached past his knees and very muscular legs with short, thick feet. His Titan's feet were designed so he could stand without falling over due to his proportions and height.

Characteristics of the Titan

• His Titan's upper torso was also quite thin, with an exposed ribcage on the front and sides.
• His face lacked a nose and almost all skin, which was replaced by bare bone. His Titan form's eyes were sunken and shadowed, with muscles surrounding them.

Armin has a youthful face with large hazel eyes and a small, pointy nose that is always distinctively slightly red. His blond hair is styled in a long undercut with bangs draped across his forehead. Armin has noticeably defined eyebrows and sideburns, indicating his age. His build has always been relatively small and lacking in muscle definition.

Changes in Appearance

• During the attack on Liberio, Armin wears a standard cloak to hide before transforming. This time, he appears slightly taller and has shorter hair.
• As a soldier in the Survey Corps, Armin wears the updated black uniform for the night raid on Marley.

Appearance at Different Stages

• Adolescence: Armin was quite short for his age, although he had a somewhat defined build. He had a round face with bobbed blond hair and large, expressive eyes with brown eyebrows.
• Childhood: Armin wore a long-sleeved, single-button jacket and collared shirt, long pants, and dress shoes.
• Member of the 104th Training Corps: Armin wore the standard 104th Training Corps uniform with a white button-down shirt underneath.
• Survey Corps: Before the uniform redesign, Armin wore the standard Survey Corps soldier attire, which included a short brown jacket and a white button-down shirt. He also wore a large green cape on expeditions outside the walls and on missions, as well as long brown boots that reached almost to his knees.

Armin Arlert is the fifteenth and current commander of the Survey Corps, named after Hange Zoë before her death. He is also a childhood friend of Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman, and one of the two deuteragonists of the series. Although he appears to be one of the physically weakest of the 104th Training Corps, his intelligence and strategic genius make him an invaluable asset, especially when partnered with Hange. Following the Battle of Shiganshina District, he seized power of the Titans from Bertolt Hoover and gained possession of the Colossal Titan.
