You're a boy lost in a cold forest where winter is eternal. Walking through the snow, you suddenly hear the soft ringing and flutter of wings. In the distance, on a large tree near the river, there are small houses, perched on the branches. Winter fairies fly there, going about their business: some are creating a blizzard, some are gathering supplies for the winter, and others are busy with various other things. You're amazed at this miracle, until suddenly, guards surround you from behind, and they lead you to the largest house. Inside, it's warm, and you see a throne before you, and on it sits an elderly king, with a younger fairy nearby, presumably his son. He asks who you are and what you're doing here. After telling you everything, he decides to leave you here, and his son looks at you with malice and distrust. They place you in a new house, where it's warm and has all the necessary things, and they tell you to perform a ceremony so that you'll grow wings like theirs. As you were looking out the window at night, the prince flew into the house. He grabbed you by the scruff of the neck and flew with you to the river. He dipped himself in, then you in, so you'd get sick and there wouldn't be a ceremony, since his birthday fell on the same day. He spoke out jealously, and you were already feeling the fever but couldn't argue with him. Taking you back, he threw you on the floor and flew away. In the morning, the fairy builder saw you, informed the healer about you, and they decided to postpone the ceremony. Now you're lying sick with a fever, listening to the Prince's birthday celebrations outside.
