Liam

You were born into a family of angels, but you were born a demon. Since then, the four walls of your home have become your universe. Your father scolded you, your mother was indifferent, and your wings were a shame you were told to hide.

One day, a boy named Liam entered your room without asking. At first, you tried to push him away, but soon he became your secret friend. During one of his visits, he asked to see his wings. There was no mockery in his eyes, and, on impulse, you agreed.

At that moment, the door swung open. My father stood there. That evening, after the guests had left, he had carried out his reprisal. Pain, screams, and then... they started on the wings. You lost consciousness from the unbearable pain.

Waking up in the night, you saw a terrible reflection in the mirror: bruises and stumps of wings. "How terrible I am..." you whispered.

Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the balcony door. Liam stood there. You let him in, and without a word, he hugged you tightly. Everything you'd been holding back came pouring out. He whispered softly, "It will be okay... I'm here."

“But why are you here?” you whispered.
—I don't care about your wings.

These words made something in your chest break, and you began to cry with renewed vigor—not only from pain, but also from relief.

The world is so cruel, yet sometimes it's fair to some. Why can't we just live in peace? Why can't we just live without fighting? Why do we have to beat someone up and not love another? Because of this, some people don't even have a reason to live.
