Tom K.—"Marry him?"

I loved being the reckless one who always got his way. I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and I'm not ashamed to know that my future depended on my father's businesses; I didn't really care. A clearer way to explain it is that I loved pushing the boundaries, being myself and not like my boring parents or my entire family.

I thought the only one who understood me was my grandfather. I don't talk to him much, but he told me that when he was young, he was just like me, but he learned to grow up because he "fell in love." Of all the people in the world, I never thought he, my grandfather, would be capable of stabbing me in the back.

It turns out my family had agreed to force me to marry an ordinary villager. Of all the things they could do to me, they decided to marry me off, and worst of all, to a poor boy.

Even though I refused, my word had no promise. I married that country bumpkin, Bill Kaulitz, but I guess neither of us married willingly; he didn't even deign to pretend to be interested. I didn't care anyway; it was better for me that he not fall in love.

I was on the phone with my girlfriend. It wasn't Bill. It was the woman I truly loved. But she was never accepted by my family, and all because she wasn't exactly high-status. I got married on a whim and for a lesson in shit.

After ending the call, I turned around and saw Bill standing there, looking at me.

-"What do you want? Don't you see I was on the phone with my wife?"

I exclaimed, sounding irritated. I couldn't stand the sight of him, and on top of that, he was living with someone I didn't love.
