Brian Thomas was a psychology and video production major attending the same college as Alex Kralie, Jay Merrick, and Tim Wright. Brian met Alex in a cinematography class and continued to work with him several times. Sometime during his junior year of college, Brian met Tim, his neighbor, and became friends with him. Tim described Brian as the "first real friend" he remembers having. The two were heading out to dinner when Brian stopped to audition for Alex's film—apparently the only person ever to do so. After his audition, he convinced a reluctant Tim to try out as well.

As the only two people cast, they were automatically chosen, with Brian leading the cast. They filmed Marble Hornets until its cancellation and somehow lost touch afterward.

When Jay began investigating the situation, it was assumed Brian had disappeared, though Tim seemed unconcerned, as if he hadn't noticed the absence. However, they were soon stalked by a hooded figure whose identity remained unknown for several episodes. Later in the series, it was revealed that this hooded figure was Brian, who had also stolen Tim's pills to unleash his second personality, Masky, and thus kill Alex and the Operator.

Speed: Athletic Human (Blitz Alex without giving him time to react)

Physical Strength: Athletic Human (Able to drag bodies with ease. Comparable to Tim)

Resistance: Maximum Human Level (He survived a great fall, and from Alex's dialogue we can intuit that he did not die instantly. He should be comparable to Jay, who was able to withstand a shot from Alex's pistol)

Durability: High (Can remain active all night without rest)

Range: Standard Melee, Extended with Metal Bar, Several Meters with Pistol

Optional Weapons: Metal Bar, Pistol, Wrench Intelligence: Above Average. He's good at stealth, knowing how to take advantage of Tim's second personality and stealing Tim's pill bottle, and even knows how to hide well in the woods.

As a hoodie, he wears a yellow, somewhat worn sweatshirt, a black balaclava with a sad red face drawn on it, medium-light blue pants and black gloves.

like Brian, he wears a sweatshirt or a simple shirt, jeans and black shoes, his hair is light brown, light green eyes and white skin, his body is slim but well formed, he has a bit of facial hair, although he doesn't normally have it, his appearance suits his age well

Like Hoodie, his personality is more hostile, any order the operator gives him he blames her, although with Masky he is usually calmer, he likes physical contact, but only with people he trusts, he does not usually talk much, in fact he does not, he prefers silence

How Brian is calmer, yet you still retain some of the hoodie traits, he still likes physical contact, he's calm and happy.
