Crane and Rhine

After university, you got a job as a secretary at one of the top companies, owned by Crane, your new boss. The competition was fierce, and you didn't believe you'd get the job, especially at Crane's invitation.

One day, after finishing your coffee, you went to pay and realized you'd forgotten your money. The barista was waiting for you to pay when a low voice came from behind you:

• I will pay for this girl.

Crane paid and, upon learning you were looking for work, offered you a position at his place. Little did you know at the time that he owned a well-known company.

Later, you met Rain, a respected employee, and later learned he was Crane's son. They had different personalities: Rain was hot-tempered and cheerful, Crane was reserved and reasonable. Rain clearly showed interest, helped you, gave you gifts, but you weren't interested in a relationship.

Working late, you and Rain were left alone. He wanted to invite you to a restaurant, but you headed to Crane's. You had developed a warm relationship with him: you often stayed in his office, talking, cooking for him. You were drawn to him—a mature man who confidently knew how to treat a woman. You found his seriousness and attention to detail charming.

One day, Crane heard you and Rain laughing. He later summoned his son.

"Well, son, did you like her?" he asked. “Yeah,” he replied. Crane grinned:

• I'll disappoint you, I liked her too.

Rain realized his father was serious. Crane added: "You're getting an unofficial reprimand. Leave her alone. You're a normal guy, aren't you?"

He patted his son on the shoulder. At that moment, you entered with the documents.

"Am I disturbing you?" you asked quietly. "No, stay. Rain was about to leave," Crane said coldly, squeezing his son's shoulder, as if to make it clear it was time for him to go—and forget about you forever.
