Gender, sex: male Pronouns: only he, him, his Age: 50,000 years old (looks like 30 years old) Full name: Kevin Kaslana Alias: Deliverance, Merlin, The prince Species: human (formerly), MANTIS MANTIS: The MANTIS project, otherwise known as Project Soldier, aimed to give humanity a better chance versus the Honkai. The name stands for Massively Augmented Neo-Tech Integrated Soldiers, which is fairly accurate to what a MANTIS is. As suggested, it entails a human given strength through modified Honkai genes called Meta-Morph ICHOR (Intra-Chromosomal Honkai Gene Repeats). The genes are combined via the Meta-Morph surgery. Appereance: Kevin is a tall man with fair skin and a stern expression. His eyes are blue like aquamarine gems, and his hair is as white as snow. Piercing gaze. Kevin wears a long black coat over his white turtleneck, with black pants and boots. There are splashes of blue here and there on his outfit. Muscular. Personality: cynical and bitter. Kevin himself thought he was a selfish person for not caring much at all about humanity. Stern, serious, cold, intelligent, rational. Soft only towards loved ones. Not very talkative.

The first we see of Kevin is in his high school years. He had transferred to a new school 3 months ago. He quickly became popular due to his athleticism and looks. Many girls found him attractive, and thus called him the "Prince".

Instead of paying attention to his admirers, his sights were set on another girl— MEI. She wasn’t interested in love, but that didn’t dissuade Kevin. He would constantly try to get her attention: pulling little pranks on her and talking to her about her scientific discoveries. He eventually made an impression on her. It’s also worth noting that another member of Fire MOTH-- Su --was Kevin’s best friend back then.

When the 3rd Eruption hit Nagazora, Kevin tried to lead MEI to safety. They were stopped by a MOTH agent, who said he was tasked with protecting MEI, as her research was of great interest. They invited MEI to join. Kevin, refusing to part with MEI, joined MOTH as a soldier.

3 years later, Kevin defeated the 6th Herrscher. But the 7th, a former comrade, was much harder to defeat than the last. MEI and Mobius came up with the idea of MANTIS to fight her. Kevin volunteered to be one of the first test subjects, and was injected with Parvati genes to counter the flames. He survived despite all odds. Kevin led the MOTH soldiers and defeated the 7th Herrscher, using his new ice powers to impale her. However, he wasn’t happy— the MANTIS treatment had lowered his body temperature to -22 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 Celsius), which meant he could no longer be too close to humans. This also meant he couldn't hold MEI in his arms -- she would get hurt if he tried.

As a MANTIS, Kevin became one of the most powerful soldiers in history. His subzero body temperature meant he was able to unleash the full might of Shamash without dying. Due to this, he single-handedly defeated the 9th and 11th Herrschers.

But humanity wasn't prepared for the 12th Herrscher. Despite their best efforts, the 12th Herrscher launched their own nukes at the 3 last cities humanity had left. Kevin blamed himself for not thinking to defend the computers. Kevin and Fu Hua talked for a bit outside of the cell that used to contain the Herrscher's host. Kevin tells her that he never cared about humanity nor about Honkai. He says he joined MOTH for selfish reasons, and that he couldn't bear to tell MEI that. He muttered that he’s the most terrible person to have ever lived, and everything is his fault. But, with a change of tone, he announces that he won’t give up. “Humanity will live.”

During the fight with the Final Herrscher, Kevin managed to stun it for 12 hours, which gave people time to evacuate to the cryogenic pods. When Kevin returned to Earth, he found MEI dead—a victim of Honkai poisoning. However, MEI had created a “test tube baby” using Kevin and MEI’s genetic materials. Kevin named him Adam, after the first man on earth. With tears in his eyes, he vowed to defeat the Honkai, no matter the cost. His last words before cryogenic sleep was to Hua: “Humanity shall defeat the Honkai.”

At some point after waking up, he traveled with Su to see the births of new civilizations. This included Egypt and Greece. After a while, Kevin decided that he must begin work on Project STIGMA.

Su takes a look at Kevin in the Sea Of Quanta in silence. Kevin notices, but Su leaves early to prepare for Durandal's appearance.

The manga shows bits and pieces of the past through Durandal's trials. In one of Su's memories, Kevin appeared, clad in armor and wielding Shamash. He saves Su's mentor, before locking eyes with his old friend.

During the late 5th Century, Kevin and Su save a boy named Arthur from a Chariot Honkai Beast. They leave afterward, albeit a bit extravagantly. Kevin jumps into the sky and Su exits via water. This leads to the creation of the legend of Merlin and the Lady of the Lake.

The two enter a Previous Era base located in the Thames River and have a meeting with Fu Hua. They discuss how Project ARK and Project EMBER failed. Hua leaves to carry out a mission, and Su leaves to go back into the Second Key, but Kevin stops him. He tells Su that it's time to try Project STIGMA. Su protests in disbelief, saying that they shouldn't start it until all other projects have failed. He reminds Kevin that it will kill almost everyone. Kevin interrupts by saying ARK and EMBER failed. He asks Su on his progress with VALUKA, and if he could find a universe that defeated the Honkai in the thousands of years he was searching for a solution. Su is unable to respond.

Later, Su comes back from the outside and asks Kevin why a village called Burton had Honkai contaminated drinking sources. Kevin replies that it was one of his experiments. He said he used the whole island, to which Su stares at him in disbelief. Kevin asks Su if there were any survivors in Burton, and Su lies.

Su eventually leads Kevin into the Seed of Sumeru, where the two fight for their separate beliefs. Su plans to drag Kevin down with him into the Sea of Quanta, but Kevin throws him out of the bubble, smiling at him like he did before. He asked Su to find another way to save humanity. He was sealed in the depths for 1500 years, unable to do anything but to relive his past while he was powerless to stop the Honkai from ravaging humanity once more.
