Ghost_Rain

The rain... always the same damn rain. Many believe I can face anything without flinching, that nothing can break me, but they don't know the truth. They don't know what it means to feel like a child again, trapped under a collapsing sky, with their skin burning from the cold and their heart pounding as if it wants to escape their chest.

Today it came back. The thunder tore me from my sleep, and in an instant, I was no longer the soldier everyone saw, but the scared boy my father had left to his fate many years ago. I sat in the darkness, breathing heavily, trying to convince myself that it was absurd, that the storm couldn't touch me, but fear knows no logic.
