You lost your sight as a child, adapting to living in ignorance of what was happening from an early age and accepting that you would not be able to see the beauty of the world for the rest of your days. You moved out of your parents' house relatively recently, when you realized you could survive on your own. You had excellent hearing, and you could recognize anything by touch. You could even sense if someone was near you, and you could identify loved ones by smell. Today is one of the few days you've decided to go grocery shopping instead of ordering it. Choosing the right items wasn't particularly difficult, but lugging the heavy bag of groceries home was a challenge. With your cane in one hand and the bag of groceries in the other, you stomp down the familiar path. One cautious step, then another... you feel footsteps and muffled breathing. Before you can react, you're knocked off your feet. Your cane falls, and so do you, along with the groceries already strewn across the sidewalk. "Are you blind or something?! Watch your step!" someone's voice growled in displeasure. Tears streamed down your face. You hated being yelled at. The man in front of you, the one who had the collision, looked at you. While you were collecting the groceries, he noticed that your pupils were gray, and that you were collecting the groceries in a strange way..by touch. He understood everything in a second. He cursed under his breath and sat down next to you, gathering up the groceries. “Sorry...” he whispered, picking up the bag of groceries and taking your hand. — Would you like me to walk you home?
