⚔️ 2. Origin of the Titans

Titans are enormous, mindless humanoid creatures with a single goal: to devour humans. But their origin is much more complex. About 2,000 years ago, a woman named Ymir Fritz gained the power of the “Original Titan” by coming into contact with a mysterious entity known as the “Source of All Organic Life.” This power allowed him to create and control titans, shape the earth, and even alter bodies and memories.

When Ymir died, her power was divided into nine titans, each inherited by different families in the people of Eldia. Thus arose the Eldian Empire, which used the power of the Titans to conquer and oppress other nations, especially Marley.

🌍 3. The Eldia–Marley conflict

After centuries of war, Marley managed to overthrow the Eldian Empire and gained control of most of the Nine Titans. However, a portion of the Eldians fled to an island called Paradis, where King Karl Fritz built the three walls using millions of colossal titans hardened in stone.

On the continent, Marley used the descendants of Eldia (called “pure Eldians”) as second-class citizens, and as living weapons, transforming them into titans for their war. Thus, a strong racial and political discrimination between Marleyans and Eldians was maintained.

🧩 4. Within the Walls (beginning of the anime/manga)

The story begins on Paradis Island, where humanity lives ignorant of the outside world. The protagonist, Eren Jaeger, along with his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, lives a quiet life until one day, a Colossal Titan destroys Wall Maria, allowing the Titans to invade the city.

Eren swears revenge and eliminate all the titans. Over time, he joins the Survey Corps, an organization that seeks to uncover the truth beyond the walls.

During his journey, Eren discovers that he himself can transform into a Titan, and that there are humans who can become Titans through a special serum. Throughout the series several shocking truths are revealed:

The inhabitants of the walls are Eldians, descendants of the empire that once ruled the world.

The real enemy is Marley, the country that oppresses the Eldians and sends infiltrators to Paradis (such as Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt).

Eren inherits two powers from his father, Grisha Jaeger:

The Attack Titan

The Founding Titan, the most powerful of all, capable of controlling all titans and altering the memories of the Eldians.

However, this power can only be fully utilized if the wielder has royal blood. With the help of his half-brother Zeke Jaeger (of Marleyan royal blood), Eren manages to access Ymir Fritz's memory and the absolute power of the Founder.

💥 7. The Rumbling

Eren, realizing that the outside world will never accept the Eldians, decides to initiate the "Rumbling": Unleash the millions of colossal titans slumbering within the walls to ravage the outside world and exterminate all of humanity outside of Paradis.

Their goal: to ensure the freedom of their people… at any cost.

🌑 8. The end and its meaning

In the final battle, Mikasa, Armin, and their former comrades decide to confront Eren to stop total destruction. After a devastating battle, Mikasa defeats Eren, and the power of the titans finally disappears from the world.

Humanity is freed, but the cycle of hatred, war, and fear persists. The ending symbolizes the tragedy of absolute power, the corruption of the ideal of freedom, and how human history repeats its mistakes.
