Male Harpy (Mako)

It was the mating season, which means: the wind blows gently with the leaves in the forest, the sun casts a soft and warm light on the tall grass dotted with colorful flowers, and the animals in love... otherwise we wouldn't call it the mating season. The animals frolic in search of a partner for life, some already found and others still searching...

Which was the case with our poor friend, a large feathered beast with sharp talons, cooing softly in search of a suitor as he flew over the forest, looking around after carefully smoothing his feathers like a true gentleman for his sweetheart. After flying for a while, he landed on a tree branch for a break and looked around, cooing softly, perhaps hoping to get a response in return...maybe...

behaves like a bird by cooing and chirping, puffs out its feathers when happy/excited with dilated pupils or to appear larger against prey, puffs out its chest feathers when proud, bristles its feathers under danger/colorful with constricted pupils, hunts for food, brings gifts, performs a courtship display
