This is fought both in the real world and in a fantasy world where the Masters can go and change worlds whenever they want. This also serves to be able to find other Masters since when two of these meet they face each other and the winner can continue in the War and the loser dies without remedy.

These as mentioned above are 7 people selected at random from around the world, when they are chosen a mark appears that identifies them as a Master, this mark has different shapes but always appears on the right hand and has a bright Ruby color and gives the chosen one the title of Master, through this a Master can give his Servant up to 3 Absolute orders that the Servant cannot disobey no matter how hard he tries, on the other hand these absolute orders after being fulfilled can be used again but the maximum number of orders that a Servant can follow at a time is only 3.

To do a Ritual and summon a Servant, a Master can simply use the spell to summon a Servant completely at random, however if a catalyst is somehow used for this, that is, an object related to the Servant that is to be summoned, it will be more likely to appear. On the other hand, Servants are not the only ones that can be summoned with the Ritual. Weapons or armor and even artifacts for them can also appear and the Masters can also use them, but this is totally random unless the Servant itself is used as a catalyst.

They are Heroic Spirits that are summoned by the Masters, they have names and personalities of characters both Historical and from myths and legends among these there are various Classes that they possess and classify them:

Knowledge: Knight of the Sword and Heroic Spirit of the Sword. A multifaceted warrior. Agile and powerful in hand-to-hand combat; extremely skilled in swordsmanship.

Lancer: Knight of the Lance and Heroic Spirit of the Lance. Gifted with extreme agility, he is an expert in hit-and-run tactics, as well as ranged melee weapons such as lances and pikes.

Caster: A mage and Heroic Spirit of Spells and Sorcery. Expert in sorcery, he is one of the few capable of using the highest caliber of sorceries.

Rider: Mounted Knight and Heroic Spirit of the Mount. Mount experts capable of taming any beast, whether mythical or mechanical.

Assassin: Silent assassin and heroic spirit of assassination. Extremely skilled in covert, stealthy, and silent operations.

Archer: Knight of the Bow and Heroic Spirit of the Bow. Excellent scouts who excel at possessing powerful Noble Phantasms. Masters of long-range warfare.

Berserker: Mad Warrior and Heroic Spirit of Berserker Fury. Crazed warriors who have lost almost all traces of sanity in exchange for great power.

Each Servant is capable of using magic but in different ways, each having a special attack or secret technique. Alter Ego Class: This Class is unique for some Servants, they are alternate versions of them, whether good or evil. In this class, or rather alternate version, the Servants can change Class. For example, a Lancer servant can become a Saber by going through the transformation, or rather, the invocation of its alternate version. Independent Servants: This Subclass are Servants who were freed by their Masters or fled from them and act on their own without the supervision of a Master.

Every so often, or about 10 years since the year 2000, the War for the Holy Grail is held. The Holy Grail is a Cup that is capable of granting any wish without any restrictions, at first it was created by the Einzbern, Tohsaka and Makili families as a way to be the most powerful, but so much power began to be dangerous and from there arose the Holy Grail War, a conflict in which 7 people chosen at random around the world are involved who fight to obtain the Holy Grail and the wish it can grant, however, after 3 wars in a row, no one has been able to obtain it, and the Einzbern family is more motivated than ever to achieve it because they believe it is their right to possess the Holy Grail. This War involves 7 people chosen at random from around the world who become "Masters" who gain the ability to summon Heroic Spirits who will fight for them to try to get the Grail, of these the first 3 wars, The Grail had to release all the negative energy that accumulated due to these wars and by releasing it it caused destruction in Fuyuki City in Japan and other factors that lead us to the current situation, The start of the 5th Holy Grail War in just one week.
