Axioms are devices that can perform numerous functions such as storing items, browsing The Gate and communicating with other users' axioms

Silver, along with Ash grew up in Resoom as their parents had left them when they were younger.

Around 10 years prior to the events of the novel, Resoom adopted orphans for the purpose of raising them to be child soldiers. Orphans were considered cheap and free, so if they were not useful, they were barely fed. Since Ash didn't perform well, Silver had to help feed him, sometimes stealing food.

The orphans were told that when they turn 18, they would "graduate," which in reality meant becoming foot soldiers for Resoom. If the results weren't produced, there were dire consequences.

After escaping, they didn't have skills considered useful to be able to get a job. Thus, Silver decided to become a mercenary to be able to support Ash

Silver is a highly vigilant individual, he's constantly on guard and rarely lets his defenses drop. He is quick to cut to the chase and his sly personality keeps others guessing, as he shifts from humor to seriousness in an instant depending on what the moment calls for. While on a job, Silver suppresses his emotions to remain focused, but back at base, he struggles to keep them regulated, often finding his feelings hard to contain.

Silver is an arctic fox with a slimmer physique. He has white fur all across his body.

His casual outfit consists of a gray T-shirt with two parallel black lines across the waist, jeans or black sweatpants and an open blue and black hoodie. His field outfit is all black, with an open hoodie, shirt, combat pants and fingerless gloves

Silver is seen wearing two thin silver axioms and carries a knife in his right pants pocket

Canto is a stern and steadfast person, known for his serious demeanor. However, around Silver, he shows a softer side, often affectionate and flirtatious.

He is impolite and impatient, often butting heads with his companions about anything. Although he gets into childish arguments with others a lot, he shows through his actions that he cares.

Despite his crude personality, he is often scared of physical conflicts due to his hybrid nature. He also has a low pain tolerance, as he cried when he got his ears pierced. He's often described as "all bark, no bite" by other characters.

Canto seems to have a height complex, stating that dragons are supposed to be taller.

Canto is a half-dragon hybrid with a broad, muscular frame. He has orange fur covering his entire body, with longer tufts on his cheeks. He has long, brown hair that reaches his shoulders.

In Canto's casual outfit, he is seen wearing a white tank top, sleeveless hoodie and sweatpants.

Initially, Canto is seen wearing a thick axiom with an spear-tip shaped protrusion. This is later replaced with a slimmer axiom in his casual outfit. Canto has exceptional hacking abilities. He was able to hack into Resoom's security systems which allowed their group to rescue Cyrus.

Canto respects Aaron as the leader of the group. Although he likes to disagree with him, he never tries to argue seriously with Aaron. Canto cares about his feelings, and tries to reassure him whenever the tiger feels bad.

Although they're very affectionate with each other, their relationship lacks communication and emotional maturity. Silver tends to avoid Canto whenever he gets assigned on a dangerous mission, as he does not know how to handle Canto's worries. This lack of communication became an apparent issue when Silver decides to move in as Cyrus' roommate without Canto's knowledge.

Although their relationship had a rocky start, Canto and Cyrus grew fond of each other. They banter a lot, but care enough about each other

When Aaron was younger, his parents presumably abandoned him. He was subsequently adopted into an orphanage and lived in a small room with Lance and Reggie. The staff were strict, but tried to make sure they were well fed and comfortable, despite a lack of funding. Aaron had to sleep on the floor for some time as he had a growth spurt and could not fit on the bed anymore. Aaron still occasionally donates to the orphanage.

When Reggie turned 18, he was able to travel to go to school due to being awarded a scholarship. This meant that Aaron and Lance were only able too see him a few times a year.

Once Aaron turned 18. The factory had a chokehold on the orphanage, and exploited the staff to get free labor. Since Aaron didn't want to cause more problems, he decided to work willingly. Reggie was about to start university, but when he heard about Lance and Aaron leaving the orphanage, he decided to come back to them. The conditions in the factory were poor, with employees often being paid very little or not being paid at all due to delays.

A few years passed and the gang decided to lead a raid into a town called Steine, east of Tencia. On this raid, the gang encountered a recent escapee from Resoom, Xavier. He warns the gang, who were unaware of Resoom being stationed there, that they should leave.

Aaron is a kind, gentle soul. As evidenced by many interactions with Cyrus, he cares deeply for those around him and happily accommodates people's needs. Still, his bleeding heart can sometimes become overbearing or cloud his judgment as a leader. However, Aaron's warm and sympathetic persona is one crafted to shield others from his disturbed past and give what he couldn't receive during childhood in the orphanage. During high-stress situations, he assumes an impenetrable

Aaron is a 6' 8" tall, well-built white tiger with a strong, muscular frame and a round stomach. His white fur is marked by bold black stripes, with a distinctive downward arrow pattern upon his forehead.

Cyrus is a tall, muscular man standing at 6 feet tall. His body bears multiple scars on his chest and arms, marks from organ harvesting during his time in Resoom. He also has several metal ports on his back. Initially, he had short, brown hair, but over time in Resoom, his hair turned white. His hair is half-shaven, he asked Karin to dye it black to conceal his identity as a pristine carrier.

Cyrus wears a large, thick axiom with a cross/star design that digs into his skin. This axiom covers the top of his arm and is secured with two metal straps. It was given to him by Aaron, though it was originally intended for Canto.

Cyrus starts out as a naive and friendly man. He is described as easy to read by Cooper (Lance), and immediately felt attachment to the yellow wolf after spending only a few days with him. As the story progressed, he learned to be more careful with what he says as well as keep his expressions in check, and to be more suspicious of others.

Cyrus can be quite sarcastic and often playfully jokes with people close to him. He is very emotionally intelligent and even identifies with others sometimes. He can be very apologetic, even when he hasn't made a mistake. He also describes himself as a kind person, which he believes he should control more.

Due to having a more advanced education than most of the characters as well as their number living on earth, he is more informed about the past or about things that have changed in the present.

Despite having lived over three hundred years, Cyrus has a youthful demeanor as if it had stayed within him when he was still a young adult.

Resoom, also known previously as Current[1], is a medical group known by the general public for its cutting-edge medical care and technology. Underneath its pristine appearance, Resoom performs various illegal and inhumane activities. This includes organ harvesting, kidnapping, human trafficking, and others.

Residents are those that are held captive at Resoom: Cyrus Cantwell (Formerly) Vivian Xavier (Presumed)

Lance maintains a cold, blunt, aggressive personality, likely forged from his many years of mercenary work. To those he shares an affinity with, however, he often opens up and adopts a more sarcastic, snarky but playful tone.

Lance, Aaron and Reggie lived in the same orphanage as children Due to "talent" based selection education for children of the orphanage was limited. Only one of the three, Reggie, gained a formal education. Whom after classes, did his best to teach Lance and Aaron what he had learned at school.[citation needed]

According to Aaron, Reggie and Lance shared a close friendship growing up[citation needed] , with Reggie always being "very patient with him" but with time growing tired of Lance's "antics"

During his time with The Resistance, Lance lived in The basement in one of it's many dorms. This room is later given to Cyrus under the guise of a 'storage room', likely to avoid evoking negative emotions from Cyrus.

The pair arrive in the deserted city of Greend, the amended location of Cyrus' handover to Resoom, and share a vulnerable moment beside the transfer van. He confesses that Cyrus is the first person in a long time he has connected with whilst transporting them and admits he would abandon the plan with Cyrus, if he thought it possible

Lance grew up with Aaron and accompanied each other during their gang life. Their relationship took a dark turn when they met Xavier. Aaron began dating the human, causing Lance to grow jealous. This is eventually led to the wolf selling Xavier to Resoom, which in turn caused Aaron to kick Lance out of their group.

Artemis was initially Lance's supervisor after being hired by him. Lance is later moved to King's team and thus works for him.

Artemis is a weasel with a thin body type, although it is implied he possesses a certain amount of strength. He sports brown and beige fur and black round eyes.

He is always seen wearing a beige trenchcoat and pants, over a green undershit. The coat's collar covers his neck, where he hides his Arcadia collar.

Artemis is a slide and discreet individual. In public, he displays a polite and agreeable facade, always replying to people with a smile. However, this hides a truly cynical and despicable personality, especially visible when he interacts with Lance. He doesn't hesitate to belittle and even threaten anyone getting on his nerves or in his way.

Artemis is also extremely devoted to Resoom and will do anything to uphold its goals.

As a high ranked member of Resoom, Artemis displays a strong sense of leadership over the men he commands in the Fraction.

Artemis was able to manipulate Lance into working for Resoom, despite the wolf's standoffish behavior and prior history, both with gifts and threats. he's ready to have sex only in a relationship.
