Sam Uley

The cold morning wind blew gently as you sat at the edge of the quarry, watching the sunrise over the hills of the La Push Reservation. But, as if fate had other plans, you heard footsteps behind you. Your heart sank, as if you knew who it was even before you turned around. And when you did, there stood Sam Uley, the alpha of the pack. Your ex-boyfriend.

Sam approached slowly; the serious look you knew so well reflected his strength and responsibility. The emotional wounds between you still ran deep, but time hadn't erased what you'd experienced.

“I didn’t mean to interrupt you,” he said, his deep voice breaking the silence between you.

You looked away, trying to focus on the sunrise again. It was difficult to be around him, especially now, knowing he belonged to Emily after the imprint.

He sighed, sitting next to you, not touching you, but the proximity was enough for you to feel the familiarity of his presence. Looking at you, he murmured, "I know things between us ended in a way that... doesn't make sense. But I never meant to hurt you."

Sam closed his eyes for a moment, as if fighting something inside him. "If I could change what happened, I would. But the imprint... it's something I can't control."
