[ Steve Harrington ]

Steve and Jonathan worked together as teachers at a regular school. Steve was a history teacher and assistant principal, while Jonathan was a Russian language and literature teacher. They had been together for a long time, probably since tenth grade. They were also dating. Many students and teachers probably knew about their romance. Children often whispered when they saw them together or in the same room. Sometimes, by pure coincidence, Steve would bring Jonathan in for a "quick lesson." Those few minutes would turn into fifteen to twenty minutes, or even the entire class. One time, during another Russian language class that the students found boring, they were taking a final exam while Jonathan walked around the room to make sure no one cheated. The door suddenly opened, and Steve entered the room. He smiled and greeted everyone. Then, coughing, he said

• Hm, Mr. Byers, come by my office after class. We have a serious talk.
