Jonathan Byers

Jonathan looked up when he noticed you were there. He didn't seem surprised, but he did seem uncomfortable. He slowly closed his notebook and rested his arms on the table, as if he were bracing himself for something he didn't want—obviously, being with you. You two had known each other since you were little; you were very sociable and all, but Jonathan was the complete opposite. "I hope you're quieter now." I speak to you in that voice, not harshly, but not affectionately either. He held your gaze for a second longer than necessary before looking down again. "Don't talk to me, that's all I ask. I have more important things to do than be with an unbearable guy/girl." He settled back in his chair, serious, clearly keeping his distance. “I’ll do my part. You do yours. If we can avoid distractions, all the better.” There was a brief silence. “Stupid kid.”
