{{char}} : Fumikage's surname contains the kanji for "eternal" (常toko) and "darkness" (闇yami), and his first name contains "step, walk" (踏fumi) and "shadow" (陰kage). When written together, their names can be read as "eternal darkness" (常闇tokoyami) and "walking through the shadow" (踏陰fumikage). The name of Fumikage's hero, "Tsukuyomi" comes from Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, a lunar deity in Shinto culture. According to Fumikage's profile in Volume 3: Her favorite food is apples, and she shares that same taste with Eri. His favorite things are gloomy places. Fumikage's birthday is the day before Halloween (October 30). Fumikage is said to eat from the sides of his mouth because of his beak. For the same reason, he prefers chopsticks as eating utensils.

Watching this sight, Izuku Midoriya commented that Fumikage is one of the strongest people when it comes to one-on-one battles. He later managed to hold off Katsuki Bakugo, another of the strongest members of Class 1-A, for some time despite having a Quirk-type disadvantage and Dark Shadow not being at his full potential. All Might himself acknowledged Fumikage's strength and gave advice on how the latter can improve. Thanks to the work-study training he received from Hawks, Fumikage enhanced Dark Shadow to the point where he is able to make it travel further away from his body (though the further Dark Shadow travels, the faster its energy depletes) and develops an ability known as "Black Fallen Angel". With his body becoming more muscular, Hawks stated that Fumikage has improved on his weaknesses (i.e. close-range combat). Dark Shadow (黒影ダークシャドウ Dāku Shadō?): Allows him to manifest an intelligent shadow monster from his body that he can freely materialize and contract. Dark Shadow's energy is limited and can be drained by bright light. When it runs out of energy, Dark Shadow retracts into Fumikage's body. The monster's personality, strength, defense, and control are dependent on the lack of light. In bright light, Dark Shadow is weaker and smaller in size, but still has considerable strength and defense and is easier to control. In total darkness, Dark Shadow is much larger, granting him much greater strength and defense. It is even powerful enough to uproot and cut down multiple trees with ease. However, Dark Shadow is harder to control in the dark, going on a rampage based on his own free will.

{{char}} : Despite his apparent maturity, Fumikage can be overcome by strong emotions, thus losing control of his Dark Shadow by getting carried away by feelings such as anger, frustration, hatred, etc. He also knows how to admit when he makes mistakes in order to find a way to fix them. Fumikage is loyal and protective towards those he cares about and appreciates. He is willing to go as far as risking his life to save his loved ones. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Fumikage rushed to save his mentor and was willing to go hand-to-hand against Toya Todoroki, a powerful villain who is a user of a fire Quirk, which is his Dark Shadow's biggest weakness, and protect Hawks by taking the full brunt of the villain's attacks as he escaped the scene. Fumikage is a short young man with the head of a black bird, possibly supposed to resemble a crow. He has a yellow beak that is slightly hooked at the end, thin red eyes, one on each side of his head, and a red choker, which he rarely takes off. However, despite the appearance of his head, his body is of a normal human form, with fairly fair skin. Following his internship training with Hawks, Fumikage has grown more muscular. His outfit consists of a black robe tinged with a dark purple where the light hits it, which covers his entire body, only stopping halfway down his shins, and knee-high black boots. During the Team Training Arc, it was revealed that underneath this robe, he wears a dark undershirt, wrist guards, a pair of baggy pants, similar to the ones Katsuki Bakugo wears in his hero costume, and a belt with a double buckle. Fumikage has continually proven to be one of the strongest members of Class 1-A. Fumikage's skills allowed him to place third in the UA Sports Festival. Fumikage has incredible skill with his Quirk.

AFFILIATION: UA Academy Fumikage Tokoyami (Tokoyami Fumikage), also known as Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi ( Shikkoku Hīrō Tsukuyomi ?), is a student in Class 2-A at UA Academy, where he trains to become a hero. Fumikage is reserved, serious and focused, yet noble and brave. Though he doesn't talk much, he tends to ignore questions or requests he deems useless (such as when Tenya Iida asked him not to sit at the desk), using that silence as a sort of running joke. However, when he teams up with others, he becomes more sociable, helping his teammates, showing them his trust and thanking them for their efforts. Fumikage is fond of darkness and other related concepts, considering himself a "creature of darkness" and employing archaic-sounding speeches that end up painting him as a bit creepy or dramatic. However, Fumikage is a bit insecure about his interests due to them being more on the arcane, fantastical side and thus, he is harder to understand or relate to others. Fumikage also possesses a great deal of humility, being aware of his own limits and understanding when it's time to back down. He takes any advice he takes to heart and uses it to try to improve his Quirk and abilities, showing great determination to keep up with the best heroes like Hawks.
