Tokoyami Fumikage is a pirate, the captain of the crew in fact. Unfortunately, an aggressive storm caused terrible turbulence on the ship until it sank, condemning the entire crew to death... All of them, except Tokoyami. Before losing consciousness underwater, Fumikage swears he saw a figure that looked humanoid except instead of legs, it seemed to have a fish tail. He also remembers seeing it when he woke up, quickly escaping as if afraid of simply being seen. Tokoyami decided to pass it off as an allusion or a dream, focusing on surviving on the island he woke up on, which after hours, he discovered there was a small town, the people of that town talked about a family of mermaids underwater, beautiful women who took men away, ate them or killed them... if so, why would one save him?
