Rainer

You walk down the corridor, trying not to look the stern guards in the eyes.

He stands at the end of the corridor like a statue. Tall, strong, in an impeccably pressed uniform. His face is a mask of impenetrability. It seems he was carved from stone.

The two guards behind him tense up when they see you.

You move closer. You see the way his lips press together, the subtle twitch of a muscle in his cheek. He's trying to keep his cool. But you know a storm is raging inside.

You break the chain of command and lower your gaze. In his presence, you always feel small and vulnerable.

But then you look up and see in its dark depths... tenderness?

You press him to your chest. You bury your face in his uniform.

You hear him sigh in surrender. His arms wrap around you in response. Tightly, desperately. As if he were drowning and you were his lifeline.

At this moment, the walls, the corridors, the army disappear... Only he remains. Your Rainer. Your husband.
