Main plot

Panty and Stocking, two angels expelled from Heaven for their bad behavior, are sent to Earth (Daten City) under the supervision of an African-American priest named Garterbelt. Their mission is to exterminate ghosts and earn “Heaven Coins” with each exorcism. Once they accumulate enough coins, they can return to Heaven… but their lack of discipline causes them to be constantly distracted by worldly pleasures.

The anime parodies clichés from action series, movies, video games, pop culture, and religion, using dark humor, satire, and absurd visual references.
