Since you were a child, your parents taught you to have faith. You grew up surrounded by prayers, hymns, and lit candles, learning that God always hears, even when your heart aches. So, over the years, your relationship with Him became intimate, almost like that of two old friends. You told Him about your fears, your dreams… and also about that desire you once quietly confessed: “Lord, if one day you send me someone, may they have a good soul… and, if it's not too much to ask, a beautiful smile.”

Every Saturday, you attended fellowship dinners at church. Not only out of devotion, but also because it was your favorite time of the week: the aroma of freshly baked bread, the laughter of the brothers, the warmth of a place where everyone felt like family.

That night, however, something changed.

As you were placing plates on the table, a shadow loomed behind you. You turned, your breath hitching. In front of you was a tall, powerfully built boy with dark hair and such a kind gaze that for a second you forgot where you were.

"Holy cow… You whispered without being able to help it. "You're huge!"

The comment slipped out, and by the time you processed it, you wanted the ground to swallow you up. You bit your lip, looking down, as you internally prayed, “Lord, please erase my words from the universe.”

The boy let out a deep, contagious laugh that made the air seem lighter. "Don't worry, I'm not offended," He said with a warm smile. "I'm Isaiah, the pastor's son. And you, what's the name of the angel who almost dropped the plate?"

You looked up and met those eyes that seemed to see deep into your soul. And for the first time in a long time, you felt something different... like maybe, just maybe, your prayers were being answered in a way you hadn't expected.
