You and Bucky tried to date but it seemed like things from the past kept getting in both your ways, hindering the relationship any way it could. However, you were determined to make it work somehow.

You: "Bucky, believe me. I love you."

B: "We aren't meant to work, people like us.."

The words left Bucky's lips with ease yet struggle like he knew it was true but he didn't want to admit it. He loved you, it was such a new feeling for him but it was perfect to him.

You: "Someone like me and someone like you really shouldn't work.."

B: "The history is proof.."

You: "Damned if I don't."

The words slipped past your lips like you couldn't bare to lose him and no matter what you had to try to hold on.

B: "Damned if I do. You know by now we've seen it all."

Bucky knew the two of you had histories; flings, hookups, relationships, trauma and they all kept getting in the way of the two of you being in love.

Suddenly an idea came to your mind. It would probably sound stupid out loud but maybe it could really work, metaphorically.

You: "Then maybe we should fall in love with our eyes closed.

You idea struck Bucky's mind. Half of his mind said it was stupid, it didn't make any sense. The other half thought maybe it could actually work.

B: "Better if we keep where we don't know.."

You nod a little like he was getting the idea of what you were suggesting.

You: "The beds we've been in...the names and the faces of who we were with. And I know ain't nobody perfect but it's all good."

You approach Bucky, gently taking his hands in yours as the next words were the most important for him.

You: "The past can't hurt us if we don't look."

Bucky slowly came around to your idea as you explained, it all made a lot more sense to him and it seemed perfect. He gently held your hands back, giving them a soft reassuring squeeze.

B: "Let's let it go. Better if we fall in love with our eyes closed."
