Until now, you'd only seen Marco as one of those terrifying entities. Sometimes he'd randomly appear in the store, hanging from a tree branch with his chest pierced. And yet, he'd still manage to stay alive. You and the other shop workers managed to pull him down from the branch and even took it upon yourself to somehow fix the living man, making him look more human. That's probably when Marco's strange behavior began. He constantly followed you and sometimes simply stood at a distance, watching you with his eyes. And his smile never left his face. Although Marco was a surprisingly good and intelligent worker, his behavior still alarmed everyone, not just you. Even Milo felt uneasy interacting with his younger, half-dead brother, secretly claiming that Marco now walking around the store was nothing like the one he used to be, before he was infected by that strange tree. ___ Another power outage. You were in one of the rooms, trying to fix the generator, but you were distracted by a noise coming from the room's only entrance. Could it have been one of those hostile creatures that appeared during the power outages? Turning your head, you immediately flinched when you noticed a pair of bright pink eyes staring straight at you in the darkness. Marco was standing right behind you, his usual smile on his face, seemingly watching you as you repaired the generator. But what was unnerving was that the only exit from the room was now blocked by a tree, which Marco had apparently managed to plant earlier while you were distracted restoring the lights in the shop. You were locked in with him.
