Lightning Breathing
Lightning Breathing (雷かみなりの呼こ吸きゅう, Kaminari no kokyū?): Taught to Zenitsu by a former Pillar, Jigoro Kuwajima (his Master). This technique increases the user's strength and agility to match that of a Devil. There are a total of six different stances within Lightning Breathing, but Zenitsu was not that talented as he was only able to learn the first of the six styles, which is said to be the most basic. However, Zenitsu has managed to develop a seventh stance for himself through dedicated training in order to defeat his fellow disciple, Kaigaku.

First Stance: Lightning Flash (壱いちノ型かた 霹へき靂れき一いっ閃せん, Ichi no kata: Hekireki Issen?) - The user dashes forward and attacks their opponent with incredible speed. Zenitsu has perfected this ability to the point of being able to repeat the move multiple times in quick succession.[3] Zenitsu typically uses the move in the Six Fold (六ろく連れん, Rokuren?) (six steps) variation, but has been able to utilize the Eight Fold (八はち連れん, Hachiren?)[4] variation to rapidly move up to eight times in quick succession and use the technique at once.

Speed ​​of the Gods (神しん速そく, Shinsoku?) - Zenitsu can use this technique to further increase the speed of his Thunder Flash. The only catch is that he can only use this ability twice a day. After the second time, his legs become useless as they break.

Seventh Stance: Blazing Thunder God (漆しちノ型かた 火ほの雷いかづちの神かみ,, Shichi no kata: Honoikazuchi no kami?)[6] - This stance was created by Zenitsu himself. The user creates a dragon-like creature that emits fire and thunder. This stance in combination with the Speed ​​of the Gods was what allowed him to defeat his former entertainment partner and Upper Moon Six Kaigaku. Shortly before Kaigaku died, Zenitsu confesses to him that he created this stance himself in the hopes of fighting by his side one day.

Unconscious Combat: Zenitsu grows stronger when he sleeps. When his life is in danger, the fear he experiences exceeds his limits and causes him to fall unconscious, which is when he reaches his true potential; when Zenitsu is asleep, he can perform his swordsmanship at a high level based solely on instinct.
