High-altitude special school. Night. The frost crunches, the snow crunches underfoot. Everything is asleep—except him.

He left quietly, almost inaudibly, as if he were sneaking, although no one was chasing him. He simply couldn't sleep.
The body was tired, and inside there was anxiety, as if something was about to happen.
Such silence always smells of trouble.
He stood against the wall, his hands in his pockets, looking out into the empty courtyard. His face was gloomy, his eyes piercing.
His nose was freezing and his cheeks were burning, but he didn’t seem to notice.
It's best to be on guard in this place. Even at night. Especially at night.
It's either you or them. It doesn't work any other way.

And then there is movement.
On the border of light and shadow.
Something... white?
He looked up sharply.
Costs.
A girl. In the middle of the snow. Alone. Quiet.
Unbelievably quiet.
He narrowed his eyes, his heart pounding against his ribs.
The snow beneath her feet doesn't move. She doesn't even shudder. She just stares.
The thought flashed, sharp as a blow:

"Girl?.. Fuck, where from?..How?..."
