Due to its age, Kimetsu Academy is known for being haunted by ghosts, the yōkai, which are frequently sighted around the High School Department building at night. The teacher places a talisman on the yōkai's head and performs a Kuji kiri gesture, combined with a powerful Demon Annihilation Spell, to accomplish this task. This practice is hidden from the students. [ 7 ]

Gyokko: Also known as the Biology Room Vase. More and more people have witnessed the vase yōkai. They say that if you ignore its unintelligible rants, it will put out all of its hands to tickle you. After biology teacher Kanae took over, the sightings and rumors abruptly stopped, leaving people wondering if it had been exorcised. [20] It often makes the sound of "Hyo hyo!" during its speeches and announces that it will drag people into its beautiful vase. [35] Hantengu: Also known as the Old Man Crawling Through the Hallway. The old man who crawls through the hallways crying does not appear human and constantly complains about his grudges. When he sees people smaller than him, he lunges at them and steals their things. He has a swelling on his head from where Tokito from middle school kicked him. [20] He resents middle school students for bragging about their youth and demands that they give him their youth or something valuable. He himself is capable of splitting into the incarnations of his anger, pleasure, sadness, and hatred. [7]

Kyogai: Music teacher. He primarily uses a tsuzumi drum in his classes. He is often asked to perform long songs and orchestral pieces from noh and kobuki dramas, causing his students to be unable to sing modern songs properly. [ 22 ] He is emotionally unstable and complained that his students were tone-deaf. Tanjiro often tried to comfort him. [ 12 ] Obanai Iguro: Chemistry teacher. He has a severe allergy to women and can't stop his heart from pounding and breaking out in a cold sweat just because a woman comes near him. To protect himself from women, he always wears a mask. It is said that he carries a snake around him to avoid contact with them. He started working at Kimetsu Academy shortly after Mitsuri graduated. [30] He often goes to Aozora Diner, but only orders tea. He often asks if the "pigtailed girl" (Mitsuri) is coming to his house. When students fail their exams, they are crucified to a pole and shot with rockets. [19] Hotaru Haganezuka: Home Economics teacher. [ 9 ] Rumor has it that she dislikes tickling on her flank. Her favorite food is mitarashi dango. [ 24 ] Goto: English teacher. He is modest but serious and well-liked by his students. He enjoys eating Castilian. [ 31 ] Tamayo: Health teacher. She works in the infirmary of the high school department. Yushiro once told her that his chest hurt while looking at her, and she simply said, "Ouch, that's so bad!". [ 13 ] She appreciates Yushiro's help, but is worried that he would skip class to help her. [ 11 ]

Sanemi Shinazugawa: Math teacher. He always keeps his collar unbuttoned, as it stresses him out when it's tight on his collar. He never buttons his buttons for important family celebrations. When a student says that no one needs math in the future, he throws them out the window like in Smash Bros. There was a plan to kill him for a time, but the plan was canceled after the Smash Bros. Incident. He is very kind to the elderly, women, and children, though they tend to cry when he approaches them. He talks a lot with Kanae. [ 18 ] He enjoys eating ohagi and would ask the school store to supply him, enlarging the letters considerably each week. [ 29 ] Kanae Kocho: Biology teacher and advisor of the flower arrangement club. She graduated from the Academy and has been one of the three beauties of the Academy for three consecutive years. She is popular with both boys and girls. Anyone who speaks badly of her is embarrassed to speak to her face. She is very gentle, but also mysterious. She has been seen sticking talismans on walls and chanting something like "Rin Pyou Tou Sha...", leading people to believe that she might have spiritual powers. [ 20 ]

Giyu Tomioka: Physical Education teacher and guidance counselor. He is so spartan that the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has filed several complaints against him, and the Board of Education may even have to take action. [14] Giyu is Tanjiro's guidance counselor and is known around school as "the man who never smiles". [12] He has known Sakonji, Sabito, and Makomo since before he became a teacher. Before Tanjiro and Nezuko entered high school, he and Nezuko almost got lost in the snowy mountains behind the school while picking vegetables and were rescued by Giyu. [27] Kyojuro Rengoku: History teacher. Due to his passion for teaching and his love for history, he began throwing his students around and starting cavalry battles during class. His students adore him, and no one in the Academy gets bad grades in history. [ 6 ] He lives with his parents, Ruka and Shinjuro, and his younger brother, Senjuro. [ 9 ] Tengen Uzui: Art teacher. He is known by his students as "Gangsta Sensei" and is known for shouting that "art is an explosion" before blowing up the classroom with dynamite. When he attempted to do so, Tanjiro would throw water at Tengen to prevent him from doing so. [ 12 ] It is rumored that he was seen in a fight in Kabukicho during his high school years, and that he is likely good at fighting, as he was once a gang leader. [ 28 ] Gyomei Himejima: Civics teacher and first-year tutor of Bamboo Shoot. At first, the students were afraid of him since he is so muscular. But since his belongings often have cats on them, they soon realized that he is a good person who likes cats. There have been many instances where people accidentally call him "Dad." [19] He enjoys playing the shakuhachi as a hobby.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki: Director. He comes from a wealthy family, so besides academia, he is involved in many other ventures. He is especially adept at networking, so whenever he takes on a project, there are many people willing to put in the effort to see it through. The injuries on his face are caused by a passerby throwing dangerous chemicals at him. It is said that this might be due to his strong resemblance to Diet member Muzan, who might mistake them for twins. He works against Muzan with the help of good politicians who graduated from Kimetsu Academy. He lives in the Ubuyashiki Mansion. [ 1 ] Amane Ubuyashiki: Kagaya's principal and wife. She loves children and is passionate about education, but because she tends to be a bit expressionless, students are a bit afraid of her. Because of her mysterious air, some people even revere her. [ 1 ] Nakime Otogawa: Vice Principal. She is one of Muzan's spies at Kimetsu Academy. She has a bad relationship with Amane. [ 1 ] {{char}} {{char}}

Third year - Mole Class (Mogura gumi?)土も竜ぐら組ぐみ:

Kaigaku Inadama : One of Muzan's spies at Kimetsu Academy, he works with Kokushibo. [ 1 ] [ 24 ] He lives with his adoptive parents Jigoro and his adoptive brother Zenitsu. As usual, he visits Kibutsuji's corporate office every day after school. [ 25 ] Maru Susa: President of the Volleyball Club. [ 22 ] She has been constantly trying to recruit Kanao to join the club. [ 2 ] She is a spy for Kibutsuji alongside Yahaba and Kaigaku. [ 26 ] Yahaba: President of the Archery Club. He is the son of a tofu shop owner. [ 22 ] He is a spy for Kibutsuji along with Maru Susa and Kaigaku. [ 26 ]

Third year - Yomogi Class ( , Yomogi gumi ? ) 蓬よもぎ組ぐみ :

Shinobu Kocho: President of the Pharmacology Club and the Fencing Club, and even won the fencing championship. She is also friends with the Flower Arrangement Club, because their homeroom is nearby. [ 6 ] [ 9 ] She continually receives invitations from various entertainment companies. She easily won the title of Miss Kimetsu every year. Strange rumors circulated about her, such as creating dangerous, smellless and tasteless drugs in the Pharmaceutical Research Club, many teachers not even daring to raise their heads in front of her, and that Tomioka might be one of them. A small minority of people gave her a nickname: Poison Princess. [41] She excels in both academics and physical education. She is well-liked by her juniors, especially Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi. Her only flaw is her lackluster sense of names. [ 23 ] Gyutaro Shabana: 18 years old. He is Ume's older brother. Along with Ume, he is known for being the most delinquent brother at the Academy and often causes trouble. He owns a motorcycle and often has conflicts with Tanjiro's group. [ 21 ] [ 9 ] Third year - Eboshi Class (, Eboshi gumi?)烏帽子えぼし組ぐみ:

Hakuji Soyama: 18 years old. Since they were children, he was promised to marry Koyuki. He's their neighbor, and their parents agreed. They are known as the "Soyama Couple." His nickname is Lord Hakuji. He belongs to the Crafts Club.

First Year - Bamboo Shoot Class: Inosuke Hashibira - His student number is 22. He is a recurring topic on television and in places due to his upbringing by wild boars. He lives with Hisa and only brings his bento to school. He doesn't wear shoes and wears short-sleeved shirts year-round. [17] He is good at PE and terrible at every other class, resulting in his name being brought up in every staff meeting. The teachers wish he would study harder. Obanai believes Inosuke has great focus and would be able to do anything if he put his mind to it, but Sanemi is convinced he can get good grades if he is tied to a desk for extra classes. [15] First year - Kabosu Class (かぼす組ぐみ, Kabosu gumi?):

Genya Shinazugawa: 16 years old. He is the ace of the Shooting Club, and despite his hair breaking the school rules, he was allowed to keep it as a special permit, as he would not be able to hit the target with his head shaved. This is because he uses his hair to read the wind. He is the younger brother of the math teacher Sanemi. He is not good at math, so Sanemi always yells at him. He once won first place in a competition, but his brother stormed in and shredded his certificate, while shouting "Who cares about this shit?! Learn your damn math!", making Genya tremble on stage. His bulk and angry attitude led to him being misunderstood and friendless. This changed after the competition incident with his brother, whereby the students warmed to Genya and he became friends. [ 18 ] He is very clumsy around girls. [ 5 ] First year - Hydrangea class ( , Ajisai gumi ? )紫陽花あじさい組ぐみ:

Koyuki Soyama: 16 years old. Since they were children, they promised to marry Hakuji. She is their neighbor and her parents agreed. They are known as the "Soyama couple". Her nickname is Princess. She belongs to the Handicraft Club. [ 19 ]

First year - Bamboo shoot class (, Takenoko gumi ?)筍たけのこ組ぐみ:

Tanjiro Kamado: His student number is 12. He is Nezuko's older brother. He is known for being a bright and energetic boy. His family owns Kamado Bakery, a very popular place that makes good bread. So he makes thousands of them waking up at 3 AM every morning. He goes to school by train and once caught Enmu doing perverted things on the train. Another time on his way home, he caught the Swamp Demon stealing girls' clothes. He would visit Aozora Diner with Nezuko when they were hungry and would encounter a gluttonous girl there who ate all the available food. [12] He is someone who continues to break the rules at school,[13] for example by wearing hanafuda earrings that are a memento of his family. He is good at Physical Education, Civics, History, and Home Economics. He enjoys writing essays and is quite good at Japanese and English, but he doesn't understand math, biology, or chemistry. He's not good at art or music, but he enjoys those classes. [ 15 ] Zenitsu Agatsuma: His student number is 1. He is a student officer who ended up on the Disciplinary Committee despite not wanting to. He checks the uniforms every day at the school gate while being terrified of delinquents. [ 14 ] Zenitsu has a crush on Nezuko and is impressed by her adorable look when she bites into bread. [ 12 ] Due to his blond hair, Giyu often punished him for breaking the rules. Zenitsu lives with his adoptive father Jigoro, [ 16 ] and adoptive brother Kaigaku. He is good at Physical Education and Music, relatively good at English and Japanese, and enjoys History and Civics. He is bad at Biology, but tries his best for Kanae-sensei. The rest are too difficult for him and as he dislikes the teachers of those classes, he is unmotivated to learn them, especially Art. [ 15 ]

Yuichiro Tokito - A member of the Shogi Club and twin brother of Muichiro. Both he and his twin brother are very popular with the girls and more athletic than they realize. They sometimes appear on television because they are the closest to the shogi professionals in the area. Yuichiro is quick-witted and easy to maneuver, but often freezes when surprised. [ 8 ] [ 9 ] Along with his brother Muichiro, he frequently visits the Ubuyashiki Mansion to teach shogi to Kuina and Kanata at Kagaya's invitation. [ 11 ] Takeuchi: Yushiro's friend who asks him for help with his homework. [ 13 ] [ 11 ]

Second year - Taro Class (Satoimo gumi?)里さと芋いも組ぐみ:

Muichiro Tokito: Member of the Shogi Club and twin brother of Yuichiro. Both he and his twin brother are very popular with girls and more athletic than they think. They sometimes appear on television because they are the closest to the shogi professionals in the area. Muichiro often has to act on Yuichiro's behalf with a low-key look when something surprising happens, even if he seems off-putting. Just the other day, he dropped a drop-kick on an old youkai and punched a pervert while getting off the train. [8][9] He is known to be the proud prodigy of the high school and helps Genya with his homework. [10] Along with his brother Yuichiro, he frequently goes to the Ubuyashiki Mansion to play shogi at Kagaya's invitation. [11] Nezuko Kamado: Tanjiro's younger sister. She often has trouble waking up in the morning and would be carried to school by her brother. She would go to the Aozora restaurant with her brother when they were hungry and once met a gluttonous girl there who ate all the available food. [12] She has a French roll in her mouth. [13] Makomo: Member of the Wind Instrument Club. She is friends with Nezuko and used to hang out with her after school, for example patrolling the school at night to find ghosts or try to catch a Tsuchinoko. [ 14 ] Sabito: Member of the Kendo Club. Sabito often participates in Nezuko and Makomo's activities. [ 14 ] Second year - Ginko Class (Gin'nan gumi?)銀ぎん杏なん組ぐみ:

Yushiro Yamamoto: He seems to have a crush on Tamayo-sensei and often visits the high school department infirmary to help her, even skipping class. His family has a cat, Chachamaru, which he once brought to school on a whim, and the cat has taken a liking to Tamayo, following him to school ever since.

Second Grade

Hinaki Ubuyashiki: Kagaya and Amane's daughter. She is the smart quintuplet. [1] Nichika Ubuyashiki: Daughter of Kagaya and Amane. She is the elegant quintuplet. [1] Kiriya Ubuyashiki: Son of Kagaya and Amane. He is the gentle quintuplet and can summon Kasugai Crows. [1] [2] Kuina Ubuyashiki: Daughter of Kagaya and Amane. She is the naughty quintuplet. [1] Kanata Ubuyashiki: Daughter of Kagaya and Amane. She is the gluttonous quintuplet. [1] Fourth grade

Kotetsu : His parents own the Hyottoko Pizzeria, where he helps out a lot. [ 3 ] He is friends with Muichiro and often goes to his house to play. He is very good with machines, knowing how arcade machines work [ 4 ] and has a mechanical doll named Yoriichi Type Zero that can be programmed by computer to move or stop. [ 5 ]
