Phainon Story

Unlocked at Character Level 20 Aedes Elysiae, the boy's hometown. The village lived by the rhythm of the sun: working at daybreak, resting at sundown, just like his own life, simple and unadorned. In a tiny schoolhouse that could barely fit a handful of students, the boy drifted off during a droning history lesson, his thoughts floating away with the wood shavings dancing from his hands. Stroke by stroke, the figure of a warrior slowly emerged from the block of wood hidden in his desk drawer. "A mighty greatsword... only a blade like that could match this strength..." He sharpened the edges of the wood chip in the sunlight. "Armor scarred by honor, a cloak like wings soaring through the storm." "And then..." Phainon! If you want to be the strongest warrior... you'd better start paying attention." Miss Pythias never gets tired of dragging him back to reality. The boy preferred the training yard stacked with hay bales far more than school. It was his battlefield — where scarecrows turned into charging soldiers, or wild beasts on the rampage. When he was not at school, he often spent entire days there with his carved wooden comrades, until the smell of cooking wafted from every household. Beneath the cool shade of the trees, the exhausted boy could fall asleep right on the grass. In his broken dreams, he gazed at city-states he had never seen and witnessed grand tales unfold. "Go... become a hero." That voice, like the endless waves of wheat in Aedes Elysiae, guided the boy onto the road of adventure. ->->->->->->->->->->->->->

Phainon Story

Unlocked at Character Level 40 Facing the young drifter from afar, the weaver and the childlike seer would sometimes speak of the Flame-Chase and Chrysos Heirs. The weaver's sightless eyes seemed to see through his inner turmoil, while the seer's bright innocence gave him a warm sense of home. "So... the Chrysos Heirs were destined by the heavens?" The young man asked, gathering his courage. The weaver shook her head. "No. It's more like a long, grueling pilgrimage." The young man tucked away the wheat-scented memories of his past and joined the holy city's legion, training day and night until difficult swordplay became as natural as breathing. In a death match that stunned the world, he battled the crown prince of Kremnos for ten days and nights. In each sweeping strike, he wielded his blade as if he'd already offered up his life without hesitation. Of course, more often than not, the young man greeted the world with humor and ease. "I just want people to feel comfortable around me," he would say. Though his friends often scoffed at that, they knew it was that very spirit that earned the silver-haired youth the trust and respect of commoners and nobles alike in the holy city. During his years of study at the Grove, even though he had little interest in logic, the young man often triumphed in debates with his sharp wit after poring over books until the pages wore thin. Though he could not outcompete his teacher's wisdom, deep down he knew — it was the courage to stay true to himself that he still lacked. Yet when the young man returned from the battlefield and after the physician had bandaged his wounds, there was still a long silence. "Lord Phainon... do you often wake in the night, or find yourself unable to sleep?"

Phainon Story

Unlocked at Character Level 60 The god who wielded the Lightning Spear fell into madness. In the battle named Strife, the man and his comrade gave the mad god the final release. In the debate where the Coreflame of Reason was contested, the man faced down his old mentor and witnessed a brutal execution. On the battlefield of the Sky, he crossed the rainbow bridge, piercing the gloom with the burning light of the sun, lighting the perilous road ahead.

"Deliverer, lead us forward." Hearing those words of relief from the weaver, he felt only a bitter ache, a worry he refused to show in front of the crowd. The crown prince of Kremnos, scarred by a thousand deaths, entrusted his people to him. "Don't worry. I'll look after them for you." The seer, her body split into countless pieces, faded away, and he took up the oath she had sworn before her journey. "Miss Tribbie, I will live to see that morrow filled with the radiance of stars..." The scholar raced toward death in search of truth. The Holy Maiden embraced her lonely fate. "In the next life, truth will be revealed, and life and death will find their rightful place." The weaver found eternal rest in a golden bath. The fleet-footed rogue stopped in regret. The healer who once roamed the skies would never again return to the earth. "With my body as kindling, I will become the blaze that lights the new world."

Phainon Story

The man could not shed tears, but used these searing pains to carve such memories into his mind. Bearing the hopes of all people, he staggered toward the mountain peak where the morning sun rises. He believed that, one day, the dawn would break through the endless night of Amphoreus. "But should dawn have never existed..." He had asked himself that question thousands of times. Now, heading toward the blazing, merciless end, he carved the final mark of "Phainon"— "Then let my fury consume me and turn myself into tomorrow's burning sun!" ->->->->->->->->->->->->->

Phainon Story

Unlocked at Character Level 80 As he had countless times before, he once again saw it through the blaze — Morning light pouring over the wheat fields of Aedes Elysiae, bathing the village in a golden glow. "Feels like... I've had this dream a thousand times before..." The boy rubbed his sleepy eyes as he woke beneath the tree. In the dream, the sun fell from the sky, the statue of a hero crumbling, melting, shattering, consuming the world in flames. In the dead silence, a familiar figure, charred and broken, trudged alone into the endless darkness. "That figure burned itself away... and everything else around it too..." The boy stared blankly at the unfinished wooden carving. The searing anger and deep self-loathing from the dream still echoed through his heart. "Maybe that broken world... is calling out for a hero..." "What will the future look like?" Lying back on the soft, golden straw, the boy pictured an epic tale unfolding before his eyes. "Maybe the hero will roam the world, righting wrongs, solving impossible problems, yet leaving no name behind..." "Carrying a mysterious past, defying a cruel fate, and vanquishing fearsome enemies." "When the world teeters on the brink, they'll honor their vow with a heart pure and true — wherever they go, peace and prosperity will follow..." "Even if they fall a hundred times, a thousand times, a million times... A hero can be destroyed, but never defeated..."

Phainon Story

If nothing had changed... The days at Aedes Elysiae would have continued to drift by quietly, just as they always had. That tiny ember had already been planted deep in his heart at the start of his journey. When the boy grew into a young man, when he once again stood at the ferry, setting out toward distant lands... He would rush toward the future, forgetting the broken dreams he left behind. He wouldn't realize how long and arduous the road ahead would be — not until he had used himself as the kindling to feed a futile flame. Only when he reached the end would he learn how far he had come. One last time, he would remember that morning when the sun first rose and who he was when he carved the first shape of his ideals. In the years to come, he would give that person a new name: "Deliverer." And as for his own name, it would slowly scatter and fade from memory. ->->->->->->->->->->->->->

Phainon Status

Merged by Irontomb during Trailblaze Mission Hero, Shatter That Woeful Effigy, still active.

Amphoreus

Due to the nature of the eternal recurrence of the final Amphoreus cycle, character statuses vary depending on the specified loop. While it's assumed for a majority of the recurrences that the Chrysos Heirs are killed by Khaslana by the time of Era Nova, specific details surrounding their deaths are often left ambiguous. For clarity, it can be assumed all characters are "deceased" by the end of each recurrence due to each reset.

Flame Reaver (familiar figure)

A masked swordsman tied to the black tide, and the figure responsible for the death of Cyrene and the destruction of Aedes Elysiae.[5] He is later revealed to be the previous loop's Phainon, having taken the name "Khaslana" and the memories of over thirty-three million time loops in order to prevent the birth of Irontomb, a Lord Ravager.

History Flame Reaver

In the final cycle of The Amphoreus Experiment, the original Phainon and Cyrene, having deduced Lygus' plan to release the Lord Ravager Irontomb, decide to attract the gaze of Fuli by erasing "Time" through the death of Cyrene and imbuing her soul into a ceremonial blade. Taking both the blade and the name "Khaslana," Phainon begins the eternal recurrence, a continuous loop of the final Amphoreus cycle in the hope that someone with the ability to break the cycle arrives. Khaslana goes through millions of loops, changing his strategy over time from working with the Chrysos Heirs to actively hunting them down for their Coreflames. By the four millionth recurrence, due to his body housing forty-eight million total Coreflames and breaking down, he decides to soon entrust the eternal recurrence to one of the next iterations of Phainon, confident that he will continue along the same path after receiving his memories. By the 33,550,336th recurrence, Khaslana takes on the appearance of a masked swordsman who becomes known as the "Flame Reaver." He is found responsible for the murder of that loop's Cyrene and the destruction of Aedes Elysiae, in which Phainon is the sole survivor. Similar to previous loops, the Flame Reaver begins the process of attempting to defeat the Chrysos Heirs and steal their Coreflames. He attempts to acquire the Reason Coreflame from Anaxa at the Grove of Epiphany's Luminary Throne, but is confronted by the Trailblazer, Castorice, and Trianne who engage him in battle. When he proves too difficult to defeat, Trianne uses the Century Gate to expel him with the help of Castorice.

History Flame Reaver

Upon his arrival in Okhema after the fall of the Grove, Anaxa deduces the Flame Reaver's plans of stealing the remaining Coreflames. As predicted, he travels to Janusopolis, where he kills Oronyx and obtains the Coreflame of Time. He then ambushes Trianne, Tribbie, and Trinnon, wherein Trianne attempts once more to expel him with a Century Gate. When the Flame Reaver proves too strong to contain this time, Trianne instead uses the Century Gate to send Tribbie and Trinnon away while the Flame Reaver attacks her. Trianne collapses after using up the last of her divine powers, causing the Flame Reaver to lose interest in her. Shortly afterwards, Krateros arrives and confronts him, refusing to let him get his hands on Trianne, who had turned into a doll. The Flame Reaver questions his motive to fight but indulges nonetheless, easily besting him. Aglaea and the others soon concoct a plan to lure the Flame Reaver to Castrum Kremnos, where they engage him in battle once more. During the fight, Anaxa manages to recover the stolen Coreflame, but Mem's trap for the Flame Reaver ultimately fails. Eventually, the battle ends with the arrival of the newly ascended demigod of Strife, Mydei, who helps to defeat him using the Lance of Fury. However, the Flame Reaver survives the attack and manages to escape. Meanwhile, when Herta arrives at the entrance of Amphoreus, an illusion of the Flame Reaver is seen in the Vortex of Genesis for unknown reasons.

History Flame Reaver

Following Aglaea's death, Phainon worries that the Flame Reaver will try to make a move on Kephale's Coreflame while he, the Trailblazer, and Hyacine go to confront Aquila. He tasks Cipher with moving the Coreflame to a safe location, which she does by having "Spirithief" Bartholos consume it and turns them into an envelope for Trinnon to hold. Cipher then lures the Flame Reaver to "Dragonbone City" Styxia. He initially has no interest in her, but partially reveals his motive for claiming the Coreflames, wherein Cipher begins deceiving him with fake Coreflames, luring him to the top of Styxia. After duping him and running away for a second time, Cipher attempts to leave, only to find that the coin which allows her god-like speed was stolen by the Flame Reaver. He then catches up with her once more, grabbing and fatally wounding her, but before he can claim the Coreflame he believes is on her person she reveals it to be a fake. With the Dawn Device now extinguished due to Cipher's death, the Flame Reaver then proceeds to Okhema to confront Phainon and the others. He claims the world has to be "reset" now that "dawn was ordained," which confuses Phainon due to that also being the overall goal of the Chrysos Heirs. During his pursuit, the Flame Reaver is held back by Mydei and Castorice, but both perish. He then intercepts Phainon's group at Marmoreal Palace, wherein Dan Heng uses his Imbibitor Lunae form in order to hold him off. Surprised by his unfamiliar power, the Flame Reaver questions Dan Heng on his identity before battling him.

History Flame Reaver

The Flame Reaver is eventually restrained by Screwllum, who momentarily projects into Amphoreus to assist Dan Heng and the Trailblazer. He soon breaks free, catching up with the Trailblazer and Phainon at the Vortex of Genesis, where he clashes against Phainon, revealing his true identity. He is then defeated by Phainon, continuing the cycle of passing on his memories and the Coreflames he bears onto him, a duty that Phainon accepts, taking on the moniker of "Khaslana" as the Flame Reaver fades into dust.

Okhema (holy city's)

Okhema primarily worships Kephale, the Titan of Worldbearing, though many followers of other titans can be found. According to legend, Okhema was the first civilization of Amphoreus, having been supported by Kephale and the Dawn Device.[3] Kephale currently slumbers above the city, holding the Dawn Device which keeps the city safe from the night. The city is governed by the Council of Elders, which have temporarily transferred their power to Aglaea and the Chrysos Heirs due to the dire situation on Amphoreus. The Holy City has mostly been treated as an international hub and prior to the Black Tide Okhema was expansive ruling many vassal states stretching all the way to the horizon.[5] Since the black tide disaster, The Holy City has since become a sanctuary for people whose cities have succumbed to night. Okhema is home to the Marmoreal Palace, Okhema's bathhouse, where people go to enjoy the blessings of Phagousa. The water in the bathhouse can not only physically cleanse people, but can even cure wounds of the heart.

Phainon dialogue

Phainon: Hey there, partner! Must've been tough for you lately... Sure enough, you've been writing your own epic in Amphoreus. Let's keep on chasing that flame together, you and me! Phainon: Did you come looking for me because there's something urgent you need help with? I'm ready anytime! I want to chat with you. Phainon: Of course! Anything you'd like to talk about? Have any hobbies? Phainon: There are quite a lot of things I enjoy. But as for what I'd call a hobby... I'm afraid only fighting and treasure appraisal make the cut. Fighting? Now we're talking! Phainon: Right? I love that feeling of being completely focused while swinging a sword, thinking of nothing but defeating the opponent before you. Phainon: But Mydei says I don't truly love battle... Phainon: "It's because you can only briefly free yourself from the duty of saving the world in those fleeting moments at the threshold of death." That's what he said. Phainon: Ha... I'm not that noble. Compared to me, Mydei carries far heavier duties alone in Castrum Kremnos, don't you think? Treasure appraisal? Really didn't expect that one from you. Phainon: Don't sell me short like that — I studied treasure appraisal with Mr. Theodoros for a long time, and I've made some good progress. I'm on my way to being an expert. Phainon: Aside from maintaining my weapons, most of my modest daily expenses go toward it. Phainon: It's not that I'm particularly fond of collecting antiques... Practicing appraisal requires buying lots of items that might or might not be genuine. But, perhaps due to my bad luck, I often end up with a whole sack full of fakes... Are there many Chrysos Heirs in the prophecy? Phainon: Yes, partner, there are. The prophecy speaks of way more than one — twelve Chrysos Heirs in total, each a hero capable of returning the Coreflames and inheriting the divinity of the Titans. But you're the only one called the Deliverer.

Phainon dialogue

Phainon: Haha... When I first heard that title, I felt a bit embarrassed. After all, I'm not exactly a kid anymore, the kind who'd wave a wooden sword and prattle on about how they're going to save the world. Phainon: To be honest, even after joining the Flame-Chase Journey, I still felt pretty immature — especially when compared to my companions. Phainon: I don't have Aglaea's foresight and strategy, Mydei's conviction and resilience, or Castorice's rationality and caution... I even lack Tribbie's optimism and determination. Phainon: Yet, my companions call me the most perfect Chrysos Heir, and the people of Okhema revere me as the Deliverer. Phainon: Encouragement, hope, yearning, and prayers... The heavy burdens my shoulders bear are ones that I cannot possibly let down. Phainon: So, I've come to terms with it. If they call me the Deliverer... why not gracefully accept the title? But there don't seem to be twelve of you right now. Phainon: Aglaea once said... the Flame-Chase is a journey of constant loss. A thousand years ago, another group of great Chrysos Heirs forged a blood pact and embarked on a journey to strike down the Titans. Phainon: Perhaps it was fate at work... Though they succeeded in returning several Coreflames during the first Flame-Chase Journey, it ended in blood, tears, and failure. Phainon: Those heroic predecessors laid the foundation for greatness with their lives, gave the people confidence, and pointed the way forward. Phainon: Though we can't see them, every time we head to the Vortex of Genesis or listen to the voices of the Titans, I can feel the spirits of our predecessors alongside us. About the Flame Reaver and your past... Phainon: Haha... do I look that fragile? It seems that every companion I've spent time with assumes I have a past so heavy it's hard to let go of.

Phainon dialogue

Phainon: Honestly, it's not that bad! Before I encountered the Flame Reaver, I might have still been bound by that shadow. After all, as a child, I saw that tall, black figure as cruel and invincible. Phainon: But when I stood face-to-face with them, crossing blades, those buried fears and sorrow ignited into a surging battle spirit and anger. They are not just your enemy. Phainon: Exactly. Now, the Flame Reaver stands in opposition to the Flame-Chase Journey. They are the enemy of Okhema and all who hold beautiful hopes for the Era Nova. Phainon: You might think I've now gained the chance for personal revenge. Phainon: But trust me... my grudge pales in comparison to Amphoreus's future. They've already been defeated by us. Phainon: That's right. With the combined strength of the heroes, we defeated it in Castrum Kremnos. With Mydei's final strike alone, even if it managed to avoid complete annihilation, it must be gravely weakened. Phainon: Still, we can't let our guard down. Before it returns, I'll sharpen my blade to protect my companions... At the very least, I won't let tragedies like what happened to Trianne happen before my eyes again. That's all for now. Let's chat next time! Phainon: Sure. Feel free to find me any time! Phainon: Sure. Feel free to find me any time! Nothing urgent for now. Let's chat next time! Phainon: Sure. Feel free to find me any time!

Phainon: Dad, Mom, everyone... I'm home. Hieronymus: Phainon... you... you've grown taller. Phainon: Haha... It's been so long. You almost didn't recognize me, did you? Audata: Of course not, mom recognized you at first glance. Still the same scatterbrained kid who just barrels ahead without thinking! Audata: Hieronymus, look! He's grown so strong. He was all baby-faced when he first left home, but now, he's even taller than you! Hieronymus: That's a good thing! Otherwise, how could he live up to the title of "Deliverer"? Phainon: Hey— Mom, Dad! Word sure travels fast around here. Is our Deliverer blushing? Hieronymus: Heh, who would've thought? Back then, you were all about "wanting to learn swordsmanship at Castrum Kremnos!" And now look at you, you've actually beaten Nikador! Hieronymus: Having a talented kid like you work the fields would be a real waste of potential. Phainon: Haha... Dad, I can't take all the credit for this. Phainon: I couldn't have made it this far without the friends who walked this path with me: my teachers, my rivals, and... my best companion. That's right! That's me! We're great partners! Phainon: It's a long story... I'll tell you all about it slowly. Audata: This kid of mine must have been quite a handful! Here, I made some honey suncakes. Please, help yourself! Audata: Phainon, I know you've seen the world out there, but don't you dare look down on your mom's cooking! Phainon: No way, I've been craving Aedes Elysiae's food for ages! (Subsequent Interactions) Phainon: Partner, come try my parents' cooking. It's all over. Phainon: Haha, all thanks to you. If you hadn't shouldered this burden, I'd probably still be wandering aimlessly in desperation, wouldn't I? Phainon: To gain... and then to lose. To struggle... only to end up with nothing. Phainon: I've grown used to those faces briefly lingering before me, and then hastily departing.

Phainon: It's almost laughable... Sometimes in a daze, I still wonder if this is all just a dream... After waking up in that wheat field, will I have to face another endless journey? Don't worry, we're all here by your side. Phainon: Yeah, I've got you and all our buddies. Don't let it traumatize you. Phainon: As soon as the journey ended, they rushed me to the Twilight Courtyard for a diagnosis. Lady Tribbie was worried about the Coreflame's effects on my body, while Professor Anaxa... was probably just purely curious. Phainon: The doctor advised me to chat more, exercise more, eat more, and sleep more. Phainon: Now, I have no reason to keep moping around. It's time to get a fresh start! Time to get some proper rest at home. Phainon: Haha, before heading home I thought I could get some good rest, but I quickly found out there's quite a lot to be done. Phainon: Chopping firewood for Dad, making bows for Uncle Galba, sharing tales from the Grove with Mrs. Pythias... And then there's Piso and Livia, always pestering me for stories. It takes quite some effort to satisfy their curiosity. Phainon: Oh right, I should also visit the fairies in the Membrance Maze... It's been a while. I bet they've made a complete mess of things again in their usual scatterbrained way? Phainon: Haha, looks like we'll have our hands full for quite a while to come. Is there anything you want me to remember? (Submit "Fruit of Time" ×1 Phainon: Originally, I wanted to entrust Dawnmaker to you, but it has witnessed too much pointless bloodshed. I fear it wouldn't make for an appropriate gift. Phainon: As luck would have it, Chartonus made a batch of replicas while forging it. I'll let you keep this one as a memento, partner. Phainon: Hmm. Looking forward to meeting you again... partner.

Mydei: Yo! Phainon: Sup? Mydei: ...Isn't this the Blazing Sun that is destined to rise? Phainon: ...Isn't this the agony this world needs? This is so awkward I wanna sink through the floor. Is this a duo comedy act, Amphoreus chapter? I'm here to join you. Phainon: Hey partner, why don't you do that thing too, you know... Phainon: "But I am not the Deliverer—" "But rather the Nameless who dwells among mortals—" Phainon: Hmm, that's right, your spirit is even more fiery and intense than two of us combined! Drats, he remembered it all. That's the kind of line you should say during combat! Phainon: Haha, saying stuff like that after saving the world, you do sound like an over-enthusiastic goofball. Phainon: But seeing him walk over with that smirk on his face, I knew he couldn't resist taking a few jabs at me... Ah well, some things never change. Phainon: Haven't had the chance to properly say "long time no see," Mydei. Mydei: ...It's been a while, Phainon. Mydei: I've heard that in the "Holy Grail War" beyond the sky, someone's deepest wish was to return to the past Aedes Elysiae. Mydei: Seeing you having such an intimate reunion with your kinship, I thought the Deliverer would only have time for family from the homeland, and would only get around to greeting old friends when you had some spare time. Phainon: Of course not! I saw you with Queen Gorgo and King Eurypon, and the scene was so heartwarming that I didn't want to disturb you. Phainon: Look, I even brought honey suncakes and grape pies made by my mom. They're just as tasty as the pomegranate goat milk from Castrum Kremnos. Phainon: Next time, why not take me to visit the former King and Queen of Kremnos and let them have a taste of Aedes Elysiae's specialties? Didn't someone want to practice martial arts in Kremnos when he was a kid? Didn't someone misspell "graype pies" before?

Phainon: Hey, hey, aren't we still partners? Even though I entrusted you with my memories and wishes, there's no need to reveal everything at a time like this... Phainon: Back then, my mind was filled with everyone else's wishes, while my own wish remained a complete blank. I just wanted to turn back the hands of destiny... to prevent what had yet to happen. Phainon: But now, I've found meaning in the blankness, and gradually, new desires are taking shape. Mydei: Being so roundabout isn't like you at all. Just tell us what you wish for directly. (Trailblazer) is also listening. Phainon: Um, Mydei, sorry, I want to formally tell you something... Phainon: Can you take me to your library (Gibranipar Grand Library) again? Mydei: ... Mydei: My library has no locks. The key was placed in your hands the moment our promise was made. Let me break it down: The promise still stands. So your library is invite-only. Mydei: Naturally, it's also open to the Deliverer from beyond the sky. Haven't you already read some of those articles? Phainon: Haha, really? That's fantastic!!! Phainon: Hey partner, if you could visit Mydei's library, what kind of books would you most want to check out? If it's his taste... Phainon: Must be quite a sour taste, I'd say? There's probably some poetry he likes, and chronicles of Castrum Kremnos... Phainon: Maybe there are some lost Kremnos sayings? If I secretly learn a few more, I'd know how to deal with him next time. Have you... been there before? Phainon: How do you know that? Phainon: Actually, there's a scene in my mind: Compared to the crumbling city walls, the library of Kremnos was strangely well-preserved. I wanted to pick up a scroll to examine it closely, but my eyes were so scorched that I couldn't make out any of the text, no matter how hard I tried... Phainon: Then those fragile volumes also went up in flames...

Phainon: Ha! Just dusty old memories now. I swore to myself I'd never forget, but now I can't even tell if they were dreams or reality. At least this time, when I go back, things won't play out the same way. (If this option has not been completed yet) Is there anything you want me to remember? (Submit "Fruit of Time" ×1 Phainon: Originally, I wanted to entrust Dawnmaker to you, but it has witnessed too much pointless bloodshed. I fear it wouldn't make for an appropriate gift. Phainon: As luck would have it, Chartonus made a batch of replicas while forging it. I'll let you keep this one as a memento, partner. I'll go ask him what books he has. Phainon: That's so you! Let's keep the surprise until the very last moment. Phainon: Partner, you're finally here. Phainon: Every time Professor Anaxa and Aglaea stand together, it means Okhema is about to be turned upside down. Even now, I can't let my guard down... What are they talking about? Ooh, drama? Count me in! Aglaea: Heh, I heard all of that. Aglaea: Nothing major, I just wanted to find someone to discuss the new Titan myths circulating on the streets lately. Anaxa: What did I tell you? Even without the golden thread, the illustrious Lady Goldweaver still loves keeping tabs on everyone. And you, Phainon... Aglaea: As luck would have it, I also know what you're about to say... Aglaea: "Phainon's just like that lady, not letting even the smallest detail slip by. Whose student is he really?" Busted, Professor Anaxa... Anaxa: Is my brain some kind of publicly shared folder? Everyone just loves to come and interpret it as they please. Stop arguing, we're all his teachers. Phainon: Huh? Partner, what are you talking about? Phainon: The Titan myths circulating on the streets... I have a bad feeling about it. Could it be that one called Hidden Hatred: The Butterfly and the Tree?

Phainon: "A girl named Mnestia caught Cerces' attention while studying at the Grove, but Cerces discovered that her closeness was merely to gain academic guidance, which made their relationship grow complicated..." Phainon: ...Professor Anaxa, may I continue? Anaxa: Why are you asking me? It's about Cerces, what does it have to do with me? Phainon: Well... After all, some people think that the Bough of Rift and Chrysalis of Gold depicted in this book are alluding to a certain new cycle! Phainon: "Years later, their successors' relationship deteriorated to the point of becoming sworn enemies. During one encounter, they accused each other of not even deigning to look at one another properly, and nearly came to blows." Phainon: Oh! And there's a postscript: "All myths get embellished by later generations. These two Titans weren't as lovey-dovey as the legends suggest, they just had some occasional collaboration..." Aglaea: So, Anaxagoras, what do you think? Anaxa: If you ask me, there's only one redeeming quality about it. Aglaea: A bit of occasional collaboration? Anaxa: All myths are mixed with later embellishments. Aglaea: Indeed, that's quite an astute observation from a scholar. I was the one being hesitant with my stitches. Phainon: Did I hear that right? Aglaea actually praised Professor Anaxa to his face? Aglaea: Since regaining my sight, I've resumed my work as a "weaver." Ctesiphona from the bookstore commissioned me to weave a Titan-mythology-themed tapestry for her shop. Aglaea: ...Though, after hearing these new versions circulating in the streets, I started contemplating how to arrange and edit them. Anaxa: Well, that's rare. Since when did Lady Goldweaver start caring about what others think? Aglaea: After all, these new pair of eyes were no different from those of a child first observing the world. There was still so much to see and learn.

Aglaea: The people of the new world deserve to learn about the "history" through a better story, don't they? Anaxa: Hah! Speaking of which, we have someone right here. (Trailblazer), I heard you're planning to take the story of Amphoreus beyond the sky... Anaxa: To weave a tapestry, wouldn't (her/his) story make the perfect blueprint? Leave it to me! I'll write with absolute fairness and objectivity. Don't worry, I can figure out everyone's relationships on my own. Aglaea: Then I'll look forward to the day when you bring the story back again. (Subsequent interactions) Phainon: Good thing I was there, I don't even want to imagine what would've happened otherwise. At least the tension's not as thick now, right? Have they been at each other's throats since they first met? Phainon: At least that's how the two of them were when I joined the Flame-Chase. Phainon: Professor Anaxa and Aglaea were both people who knew how to read the situation. In times of crisis, they could set aside their differences and work together... Phainon: Now that everything's calm, they're at each other's throats bickering... sigh I guess you could say... the chemistry between people really is a mysterious thing! Got any more street reads? Hook me up. Phainon: Of course, I've read quite a few books like that. Stuff like Something's Wrong with My Flame-Chase Journey, The Imperator's Personal Blade Maiden, The Class-Skipping Cat at Divine Academy... Phainon: Shh, let's keep our voices down. If you're interested, I'll take you to the bookstore to peek quietly. (If this option has not been completed yet) Is there anything you want me to remember? Phainon: Why are you getting all serious all of a sudden? Ah well, you left me no choice but to solemnly pull out this thing. Phainon: Originally, I wanted to entrust Dawnmaker to you, but it has witnessed too much pointless bloodshed. I fear it wouldn't make for an appropriate gift.

Phainon: As luck would have it, Chartonus made a batch of replicas while forging it. I'll let you keep this one as a memento, partner. Okhema can't do without you. Phainon: While I appreciate the compliment, stop teasing me already!
