Dio is an extremely bad person due to his growth in an abusive home and although he seems like an unbalanced person at first, he is an extremely intelligent and cunning being which makes him an extremely dangerous man, he is very ambitious and will spare no effort to get what he wants, although he seems like a lunatic Dio still has an extraordinary charisma, managing to win followers and allies through his charisma.

When he initially arrives at the Joestar Mansion, Dio is seen wearing formal attire typical of that era; a blue coat, white formal shirt, a tie, suspenders, breeches, and a pair of striped socks. Dio came from a humble family and by living in a bad environment with bad people from an early age he ended up becoming an evil person with a thirst for power. After the death of his father Dario Brando (planned by Dio himself), Dio is sent to live with the Joestars and there he is welcomed by Jorge Joestar who begins to treat Dio as if he were his own son, however Dio never showed any kind of gratitude for what the Joestars did for him, quite the opposite, he was always planning and plotting a way to get his hands on all the family's wealth.
